This pile of wood chip has become my nemesis over the summer but I’m beginning to see the end of it!
It was another lovely visit to the Cornerstone Patch in Hamworthy and I was moving the donated wood chip from the never ending pile onto the main pathway to the site. The relatively new community garden is on the site of an old swimming pool so there is lots of concrete and weeds to cover with the wood chip.
We’ll hopefully be there again next month for another session of wheelbarrows and wood chip!

It was a beautiful autumnal sunny morning at Upton Junior Parkrun.
I was the tail walker again following the 120 participants at the back to walk and occasionally run the 2k route.
Tail walking means no participant comes last and ensures the safety of the runners as you carry and walkie talkie and first aid kit.
We hope Goodgym will be back next month to help again!

Sophie, Emma and Kim joined other volunteers with Wimborne War on Waste to do a litter pick around Wimborne town centre.
Amongst the many beer bottles and bits of plastic some of the most unusual items found were an old paddling pool and a squashed shopping basket.
Thank you Wimborne War on Waste for having us. We look forward to the next one!

Three Poole Goodgymers joined their friends of the Bournemouth group to help the Walk for Wards event at Upton Country Park.
Whilst the Bournemouth group were heading off ahead of the participants that were walking the 3,5 and 8k route the Poole Goodgymers were marshaling cheering on and ensuring everyone was heading in the right direction.
It felt like they had every type of weather that morning but it was a wonderful event!
Thank you Walk for Wards for having us
Sunday 24th August
Kimberley Powell (She/her) cheered by other people 25 times.
Kimberley is part of a crowd that's making a huge noise. Kimberley has been cheered by 25 people - that's a round of applause just on their own. We hope they keep it up.

James, Chloe and Kim were back at Cornerstone Patch in Hamworthy. Cornerstone had been donated possibly the biggest pile of wood chip ever seen! The Goodgymers were tasked with filling wheelbarrows with the wood chip and then spreading it along paths at the site especially around the wildlife corner.
Thanks to Cornerstone for having us again and we’ll hopefully be there again in September.
