It was an exciting evening as we headed to Marsha Phoenix Trust to tackle some big tasks in the garden. Marsha Phoenix Trust has been a regular monthly community mission for the past couple of years and it was great that we had the chance to be visiting as a big group. And a big group we were!!
Just one minor hurdle to get over before we arrived at the task and that was the massive hill leading up to Hilly Fields.
Sue was there to greet us at Marsha Phoenix Trust and first job was to bring the brown garden waste bins through multiple doors to the garden.
There were plenty of tasks for everyone to get stuck into including weeding the pathways, mowing the lawn, cutting back brambles, digging up trees (or using the mattock), sawing a tree and sweeping.
We got so much done - it was amazing to see the difference!! We were also very grateful for the end of task jammy dodgers - thanks Sue!
We're hopefully going to be heading back in August to tackle some more big tasks. The monthly community missions will be continuing in the meantime if anyone fancies a return trip.

Kit has done their first good deed with GoodGym.
Kit is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

On Monday we had all sorts of achievements from 1st good deeds to 350th good deeds and also a 50th in the middle! Fantastic achievements!!
The task this week was a shorter run than some of our runs in the past and it was much welcomed on a warm evening.
After a quick warm up of rock paper scissors and a quick debate of whether star jumps are really that fun, we were on our way to St Marys Church.
The main tasks of the evening were digging up the alkanet and watering the thirsty plants. The churchyard is overrun with green alkanet and in some areas it has specifically been left to go wild but in the wildflower meadow it is taking over!
The wonderful people at St Marys had put on a tasty spread of snacks and tea for us to refuel after all the digging up. Thank you!
Next week we're heading to Marsha Phoenix Trust (around 5km in total) where we'll be tackling a variety of tasks in the garden. We'll also be heading out for a social post-group run.
