Liz, Nikki, Ros, Ian, Hannah and Ingrid met at Tunstall Nursery for our regular task of helping clean out the sandpit. We removed some leaves and sand which had turned green. The compressed sand was then dug over to make it easier for the children to play. The sandpit was carefully covered to prevent local cats and foxes using it as a litter tray!
Next we moved a heavy slab from the playground area and fixed a water table which had a broken leg.

The group were greeted by Simon at the Croydon Refugee Day Centre. They welcomed Clair to her first GG task.
The first task for the evening was to walk along the hanger lanes, removing empty hangers and switching ordinary hangers to trouser hangers, where needed.
The next tasks were to sort thermals by size, hang some children's clothes on the rails and to sort others into the correct box in the cupboard.
The final task was to fit the rails into the cupboard.
Excellent work team!!

Another productive evening was spent at Croydon Refugee Centre. GoodGymers Liz, Brenda, Dovile, Nikki, Ian, Paul and Ingrid met centre volunteer Simon who gave us our tasks for the evening. These included rehanging clothes on the rails with wire hangars to maximise space, sorting baby clothes and our favourite job of fitting all the rails into the storage room at the end of the night. We wished Simon well and made our way home. We'll be back at the centre in two week's time.
