Goodgym Woking News:
A massive well done to Sally-Ann who completed the Prudential Ride London at the weekend, as you all know Sally-Ann has been training very hard for this event and at the weekend she completed just over 171km in just over 7hrs, a fantastic achievement. A grew of the Good Gym boys cycled down to Surbiton and gave Sally-Ann their support as she cycled past..👏🏻
Last Night At Goodgym:
So Last night we headed back to the food bank it's been a while since we were there last. We welcomed Debbie to her first Goodgym Run and. Welcomed back Lottie who has been very bust with work. Once we got to the foodbank Katie, Lottie & Florent got stuck in with sweeping the floors while myself & James started to move things out and clear the floor area. Debbie & Adam went behind with a mop and gave everything a good wipe down.
While there we noticed that the shelves looked very bare, we spoke to one of the member of staff who work there and they said that it been very busy a lot of people had been coming in, so if anyone had any donation to make please drop off at the food bank they certainly will appreciate it………🍎🍌🍐
Once we had finished the task we said our good bye’s and ran back down the hill to Woking Park. Once there we did a quick loop of the field unknown to us when we got back to Nick we noticed he had put out 8 cones in a line evenly spread out we knew what was coming..😱
We had to run to the first cone do 10 press-up’s run back then run to the 2nd cone do 12 squat jumps this continued to the last cone and each time doing a different exercise and then going back taking one off the total… never heard so many groans and moans…but everyone put the effort it and done it, then we had to to sprints to each cone and run back this is when James tripped over the invisible dog, he made the fall look very professional turning it into a stunt man roll, it was very funny. We finished with a quick warm down and stretch.
Don’t forget to sign up next week for the RSPCA, We will be meeting there.
Have a great rest of the week everyone.😃

Anne at the Dragon Boat Race - Easy Tiger
Last Night.....
It was great to see some many faces last night. Unfortunately the food bank had to re arrange due to sickness so we headed to the allotment instead. It was a beautiful evening for it and we had some runner beans and courgettes to get in the ground. In just a couple of weeks so many weeds had taken over again. We set to work on getting rid of the weeds and tidying up. The potatoes are doing well and we also found some carrots which are growing away at the front.
Due to an incident which involved some Radish's we left James in charge of watering. I will be popping in at the weekend to water some more due to the lovely weather we are having at the moment. If anyone wants to spend time in the allotment over any weekends or is looking to grow anything then please just let me know.
Wayne and Lottie had the job of Runner Bean's, with a structure built (wonky??) and the runner beans looking happy in their new home.
Next week....
We are heading to Church, it's a great little run. We will be meeting at WWF for this one as it's easier to get to from there. The address is on the group run if you haven't been from here before.

Last Night's Run
What a lovely evening for a run along the canal... and I think that's what the rest of Woking thought too, with many runners and cyclists along the canal. We headed up the canal for just over 2.5km to Brockhill Care Home. We always feel welcome everytime we come and last night was no change.
We had the job of taking care of one of the tenants garden. As you can see below, we made quite the difference. We had the job of the raised bed and the bed under the window.
Before
After
Being watched constantly by the tenants Cat.....
Last night we met Adeel, A colleague of James. He came prepared with his gardening gloves and gave a helping hand. We hope to see you again soon once you have mended yourself from your calf injury.
After our hard work we headed back down the canal for a gentle run with the usual sprint finish from Anne, Rebecca and James!
A well done to Rebecca for adding to her GoodGym distance by running to and from home... making it to almost 10km!

GG Members went head to head with some ponies
A big welcome to Lottie who came to her first Woking GG Group run. I didn't get to speak to you for long as I was stuck in a bush of brambles but I heard that you met James... hope he didn't scare you off and you will be back with us again!
Also a Big welcome back to Anne who has been in France which felt like forever and also to Becky who has been busy working and traveling... we missed you both. It was also nice last night that the girls were dominating in numbers again!
Enough of the welcomes and lets get down to business... Last night we headed back to one of my favorite group run locations - RSPCA! I think it might be to do with all the animals to look at too.... I am trying to persuade Nick into getting a runner duck!!
We headed to the agility compound, last time GG were there we had the job of attacking the brambles around the fence. I had the mission in getting it done and getting rid of it. I may have been attacked along the way but we did a fantastic job. We had Mandy clearing the edge of the compound which has been over taken by weeds. Becky was on the clearing duty with the good old rake!
During the task we headed out for 1km loop of the fields (you all did, while I carried on chopping). After a clear up of the brambles and weeds,Nick came up with a "great" idea of a time trail lap of the loop!!!! YAYYYYY
So I joined you this time for a loop of the fields, even the ponies joined in! With James getting excited and forgetting there is more than 200m of the loop and set off on fire, we all completed the loop. With James and Wayne finishing with a sprint... clearly didn't try hard enough of the way round ;)
Next week
We will be heading to the allotment, with all the sunshine and rain, there is going to be plenty to do! Remember to sign up.
Good Luck
Wayne and myself are off to compete in the Spartan Super this Saturday! I am sure there will be stories to tell for next week!
Have a great weekend everyone! and a BIG thank you to everyone who came last night!
