With litter-pickers and poles GoodGym and Exe Nordic Walkers cleared King George V Playing Fields of litter this stunning morning.
Once again we were blessed with gorgeous sunny weather and it was absolutely brilliant to once again meet up with Exe Nordic Walkers for a joint litter-pick. Fantastic to have Teresa and Jan joining us for their first GoodGym good deed. We hope you enjoyed it and that we get to see you soon again for more doing good!
The playing fields looked pretty clean to begin with, but as we walked around we found more and more litter hidden in high grass, under trees, around the picnic tables and sadly also in the playparks.
In 40 minutes we all filled a bin liner each! Jo even came back with a full bin liner AND two broken umbrellas.
What a difference we made!
Great work everyone! I look forward to seeing you all for our next joint litter-pick. Take a look here at what else we have going on in our area!

Louise Knapman earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Louise completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Louise was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

What a fantastic Sunday morning! 8 GoodGymers and Exe Nordic Walkers did a litter-pick in Riverside Valley Park and filled 8 bin liners with rubbish.
It was a warm and sunny morning when 5 Exe Nordic Walkers ad 3 GoodGymers met up in Riverside Valley park to do a community litter-pick.
We started off with a safety briefing and a little chat about what GoodGym does and the many ways in which we get fit by doing good. Sue, the leader of Exe Nordic Walkers, also told us about British Nordic Walking and the many sessions she leads in Exeter. Definitely worth checking out, it sounds great!
We then divided ourselves in two teams and set off picking litter on both sides of the river.
It was incredible how much we got done in 45 minutes!
We filled 8 bin liners with everything from cans, bottles, a bike tire, old toys and a towel, cardboard boxes, crisp bags, cigarette buds and plastic wrappers... Great work team! Also very lovely that so many members of the public thanked us as they walked past.
To finish with I want to give Paul, Guin, Kirstie, Louiseand Sue a BIG CHEER for having completed your first GoodGym session! We hope you enjoyed it and will come back soon for some more doing good and getting fit!
Also a BIG SHOUT OUT to our lovely Camden GG tourist Sally and to our very own Craig who both have smashed 3 good deeds this week. Fantastic work!
I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day! Take a look here for your next GoodGym session.
