Flipping Good Night
The last run for February for 17 strong team at Goodgym Bath with a 5 k run to Foodcycle Bath at St Mary`s Catholic Church on Julian road to help them move everything from one storeroom to another. You can find out all about the good they do and get involved http://foodcycle.org.uk/location/bath/
A BIG CHEER for Aaron
our latest new member joining us for tonight’s run. We also have Joseph in camp tonight from Foodcycle so guaranteed not to get lost for this one, well that’s the plan anyway but just to be safe we had my good self back marking. A change to the planned route just to make it a little bit longer on the way out but the promise of a short one back to base after the task, so Steve and sat Nav Joe led the group out this evening.
Well done Emily on her 5k PB at the weekend bagging 3rd Lady ... Whoop!!!
Fiona was our task host this evening was on hand to welcome us and show us exactly what was needed to be done in this 30 minute slot. Two cupboards and full contents needed to be relocated from one building to a freshly painted store room near the kitchen. Lots of shuttling backwards and forwards with stock and two cupboards with Joe organising one end and Carol monitoring the other end. Fiona was busy rustling up some pancakes for the troops with the invitation to have a go at
TOSSING A PANCAKE
Plus they got to eat some protein balls made by Joe, Lucky bunch in Bath with Foodcycle refreshments. Thank you sooo much Foodcycle ... You Rock!!
As always time flies when you’re having fun and it was soon time to make our way back to the leisure centre. A reminder to everyone about bringing along their ID next week if you want to be paired up with your very own running coach, I can thoroughly recommend from my own experience but if you`d like more info speak to Emily or myself. Thanks everyone for another great evening in equally great company. Tonight’s Pun goes to Joe and Mary ... combo.
Look forward to seeing old and new for more action next week.

There was a definite BUZZ in the air tonight as an excited 15 turned up ready for a playful task at Goodgym Bath and a steady flat 5k run out to Oldfield Baptist Toddler group to clean and sterilise the toys and play equipment ready for the children's return after the half term break, this group is run by volunteers in the local community.
Whoop!! a very warm welcome to Helen joining us for her first Goodgym experience and a fine gathering to ease her into the groove this evening. A quick warm up, headcount with intro to kick off followed by a steady run out along to Oldfield park with the lovely Pascale back marking. Just a few opportunities on route to enjoy some squats, press ups, tricep dips and sure! some walking lunges(cause they luv em so much).
It was an added bonus to be inside for our task and Liz was super excited to see us as normally she would spend a couple of days on this job herself and as the old saying goes "many hands make light work". Plenty of room to split into teams each with its very own character captain
WOODY 1- Pascale
BUZZ 2- Dominic
LITTLE BO PEEP 3- Lydia
Time to get trigger happy giving the toys a good old antibacterial spritz and wipe down for teams WOODY and LITTLE BO PEEP whilst BUZZ took his team off to the kitchen for a spot (pots and blocks) machine sterilisation. I can't say I didn't catch them playing ON or WITH anything, because I would be LYING to you. They were on fire tonight so even managed to scrub down a sheet of linoleum and everything done and dusted in 40 minutes, leaving one very happy host behind. Great to see everyone enjoying themselves. Well done guys ... another good deed in the bag.
Remember to bring your ID along to the next group run, we have isolated older people waiting to get paired up so let's give them something to look forward to soon.
Thanks guys for being ever amazing and a joy to be around.

Subzero temperatures tonight at Goodgym Bath For our fabulous 14 and made of tough stuff runners for a 7k run out to The Nest Project to help sort children's clothes so they can easily distributed to families in the city.
Warm up and headcount out of the way quickly this evening as we have a lot of ground to cover in a short space of time, plus we were all blooming freezing so good to get going. The run out was flat and fulfilling with a few chances to regroup with some functional fitness on route.
Our host Pip was waiting to greet us and soon had us organised sorting through boxes of donated children's clothes and folding and organising them into gender and age group so they can be easily distributed to families along with children's equipment for the very young. A second group cleaned toys downstairs so they are ready to hand out. There was a lot of cooing in the room, I believe some of the team were getting broody for the rest It was light relief to be indoors for this 30 minute task.
We always make enough time to catch a group photo before leaving and thanking our hosts for allowing us to come along and do some good in our community, so everyone please spread the word if you know anyone that might benefit from some children's clothes or equipment.
The run back was a flat but fast one with the front runners looping to keep the group close and to ensure we arrived back at the leisure centre in good time for a well earned stretch out and vote on tonight's pun.
Thanks to Mary for back marking and to Rosie for tonight's pun. Yet another fun evening with a fabulous group of people, it's what makes the world go around.
Remember to bring you ID along for Emily or myself to check if your wishing to get paired up or join us on missions.

A fabulous 14 runners came along to Goodgym Bath tonight for a 6.5k run around the city handing out backpacks full of essential items to the homeless for Julian house.
Great to see some new faces this evening with a very warm welcome to Amelia, Lauren, Alison and Mike joining us for a bit of Goodgym Goodness on the streets of Bath.
Everyone arrived in good time giving us a chance to chat about Goodgym and catch up with what's been happening within Goodgym Bath before our warm up and headcount without a glitch.
Everyone had a little extra weight to carry on our run around the city centre as we weaved our way through the streets looking for Homeless folk to hand them a little something to make life a bit easier on these cold winter nights from toiletries to thermal blankets.
It's been nearly one year since last doing this task but still some familiar faces out there rough sleeping who Remember us, sad to see so little has changed for them in the last year.
Lots of opportunities for some fitness extras tonight from press ups to walking lunges making us stronger runners. John was moving like margarine this evening ... you really had to be there!
A good 40 minutes on the move with time taken to chat with the homeless about their dogs and things in general. Giving out toiletries and personal care to warm clothing and thermal blankets, so spare a thought for those less fortunate in the winter months.
Everything given out so it was time to head back to the leisure centre for a well earned stretch out and the one thing non of us knew was apparently THE EARTH IS FLAT ... Really !?
Thanks to Irena for backmarking and Alison for tonight's inspiration on the pun. Next week were off to action on hearing loss so be sure to sign up https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/evan-needs-us
Thanks guys for another epic night in the streets of our beautiful city

'Twas a dark autumnal night for this weeks group run and with Halloween behind us and bonfire night just ahead there was an eerie feeling in the air, but fear not for our trusty 9 runners there was a job to finish at Manvers Baptist church with a 3k run to eat up first.
A vey warm welcome tonight to Hannah Joining us for her first Goodgym experience and with plenty of old hands to explain the different ways to be involved and make her feel welcome it was sure to be a night to remember.
Time to get moving after our warm up and headcount and catch up on any news, congratulations to our newly qualified level 3 personal trainer Joe, I'm sure he can put his skills to the test going forward on the group runs.
We made our way weaving around the city streets with some hill sprints from Jon and Joe on route before arriving at our destination.
Pete our host as ever was ready and waiting armed with brushes and green paint to finish glossing the Widcombe room.
Emily and Ed tackled the picture rail, some might say a couple of drips but the less said about that the better. The two Johns on the green doors whilst the rest worked their magic on the skirting, windowsill and that iconic radiator, 40 minutes in total and after a bit of tuition and white spirit magic from Pete on the floor.
THE ROOM WAS FINISHED
just a small joke about having to re-emulsion the walls... Ha!!
They say time flies when your having fun and that was certainly the case this evening, just time to get that all important group photo before heading back to the leisure centre for a stretch out.
A reminder to bring your ID along to the next group run if you wish to be paired up with your very own isolated older person or want to take part in missions. Emily will be happy to go through this with you.
Thank you Pascale for back marking tonight and for tonight's pun. Shakin Stevens inspired for those of you who are too young.
Look forward to seeing you all at next weeks run for The British Heart foundation https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/getting-to-the-heart-of-the-task
