Another lovely uplifting morning at junior parkrun! The skies might have been grey but nothing could bring down our mood as we enabled 78 juniors to run, jog, skip and walk the 2km route.
We carried out a whole range of roles today - Mark on event set up, course check, chief sweeper, superb warm up leader with one of our juniors as his assistant, handing out finish tokens, and event close down. Claire as tailwalker, kept company by one of our chatty juniors! Marjo as a marshal giving out high-5s. Nigel on course set up, course check supervising Mark on his sweeping duties, marshal and event close down. Karen as Run Director, volunteer coordinator, number checker and results processor. All in the space of an hour! Great job everyone!

I think its fair to say that we made an impact at Crewe Parkrun today!! Between the 5 of us: Karen, Kat, Marjo, Nigel & Mark we managed to cover 11 different roles!! We all take great pride in helping out at our weekly parkruns, especially in our lovely Queens Park and today was no exception - the sun was shining and it was a wonderful morning to be out and enjoying being with other parkrunners.
Well done everyone ❤

Marjo P earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Marjo completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Marjo was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

I also learnt how not to fold up a bid and won’t be making that mistake again in future. Great to see everyone and thank you for the brilliant support

Tonight was very exciting for us for so many reasons!!
Firstly, we were super excited to welcome the lovely Marjo & Mark to their first Goodgym task! It was really lovely to have you both and we really hope that you had enjoyed your first experience of GoodGym (despite getting so mucky!!).
Secondly, we had a new task to go to this evening… The RSPCA! We were so thrilled to be able to support this wonderful charity and we received a lovely welcome from Angela who is one of the amazing volunteers at the centre, and we quickly got stuck into the task of clearing and levelling some of the ground ready for seeding... creating a tyre wall and lining & filling the tyres with compost ready for planting.... and laying some flags. It's been a while since we did such a physical task and got so dirty but it was great fun and it was great to see the end result!
At the end of the task, we headed to the beautiful White Lion pub in Hankelow to celebrate Maurice’s birthday tomorrow. I think it was quite possibly one of the nicest pubs I’ve ever been to. We had a well earned drink and a slice of Colin the Caterpillar sat out in the beer garden. It was lovely!
And the sun shone!!!! After days of rain, the Goodgym luck was with us. It was wonderful to finally have some sunshine and warmth!
Well done everyone - a real achievement this evening.
Have a great week everyone and hope to see you soon!
Happy Birthday for tomorrow Maurice! We hope you have a great day!
Take Care.
Lots of love Nicola xx
