In our third and final visit to the 24th Coventry Scouts Allotments, 7 GoodGym runners completed a range of tasks to get the allotment ready for when the Scouts are allowed to meet again.
This week, the final tree was planted, we removed some sneaky weeds that had popped up in the raised beds, sowed radishes, carrots, broccoli and turnips and started to deconstruct pallets to make a fence. There was also some raking and watering to do, as well as making some improvements to the potting shed.
Dan the Scout Leader was very grateful for our work and bought us some yummy brownies to enjoy once we had finished.
Hope to see you all at the same time (different allotment) next Tuesday!

Tonight 15 GoodGym Coventry members ran 4km to clear and level some ground ready for it's transformation to a wild flower garden. It was great to welcome Lani to GoodGym Coventry.
Having visited Spon Gate Primary School a couple of times last year, it was great to revisit and support Andy in the work he is doing to transform the grounds. The team quickly set to clearing the ground, levelling and taking the ground. Finding the end of some odd roots took a lot of team work at times.
We took advantage of railing on the way there to work on our press up movements and the light in the car park to complete some partner work on squats, lunges, calves and some cv work.
Finally, we took our photo in front of our own international woman,Lady Godiva. #eachforequal See you all next week for our first birthday x

Tonight, 13 members of Goodgym Coventry ran 8km to support Feeding Coventry and the Social Supermarket. It was lovely to meet Helen and talk about all the work and plans for the Social Supermarket and great to see progress since our last visit.
Having heard about Allan's fall, the wettest parkruns and celebrated Deb's parkrun PB from a few weeks ago, we set off to the Social Supermarket.
Once there, we quickly splet into groups, one to remove the shelves and cover them and the other to remove the carpet and lay a new one. The shelving group found a lot of pins- hence the pun, these were removed so the lining papaer could be added to the newly cleaned shelves. The carpet group managed to remove the carpet, get it in the sip, measure and lay the new carpet. As the launch is approaching, we will be returning for a Community mission next week so keep your eyes peeled. As the task was a distance away, we didn't get chance to complete a fitness session too. Have a great week all. Liz x

Tonight 10 runners from GoodGym Coventry (with Alex after a productive day of meetings in Coventry :) ) ran 6km and delivered 250 leaflets for the Cyrenians.
Having caught up on injury news, parkrun and Draycote 10km news, we set off to deliver the bags. We met the friendliest but noisiest Basset Hound in Coventry, cats with sparkly eyes and found the lumpier side of Coventry whilst sharing news of the Cyrenians next bag collection.
As hill sessions had been s feature of most of the recent sessions attended,we changed to a pyramid session using lampposts and some run specific exercises before heading back to the Alison Gingell building.
Thanks Becka for the puns x
Next week we are delivering leaflets for the Festival of running detailing their road closures.
Have a good week all, Liz x

Tonight, 10 runners from GoodGym Coventry ran 6km to support the Canal and Rivers Trust and Sustrans by keeping the canal paths clear of rubbish.
It was great to see Allan's new red shoes-and lights as well as to hear about Muntasir's parkrun pb Meera's film premiere and Susanne's travels.
Tonight, we were met by Nick from the Canal and Rivers Trust who wanted to thank us for all our hard work and also stayed to give us a bit of history and plans for the future on the canal.
Our finds ranged from bread, springs, radiators, coconut shells as well as the usual litter.
Lovely to see you all and see you all next week for Bag drops for the Cyrenians. Have a good week, Liz x
