So much to do in so little time was the theme for this evening. We headed over to Danson Youth Centre to help tidy up bushes, paths and litter for this Wednesdays 'Children's Day.
To kick the evening off we got a warm up under our belts followed by 'Workout Battle Ships'. The game involved two teams with a row of cones in the middle. On the whistle it was 10 high knees before running to the comes and pointing them towards the opposing team. When the clock runs out the team with the most cones facing then loses. The penalty for the loss was 3 burpees. We then played another round but this time it was 5 squat jumps in place of the high knees.......
NOW THOROUGHLY WARMED UP WE HEADED OFF TO THE DANSON YOUTH CENTRE
Now thoroughly warmed up we headed off to the Danson youth centre. Susan led the way with the quicker runners whilst i looked after and coached the slower runners. The beautiful thing about Goodgym is no one is ever left behind. We start as a team, and finish as a team.........
On arrival at the centre it was straight to work. We formed two teams. One litter picking, and one bush trimming and path sweeping. It was quite a big task and our team was a little low on numbers so everyone was mucking in to get this task done in the time we had. I shouldn't have worried!!!!!!
With everything on the task now completed we were really fortunate to have Chi with us for the evening. Chi is currently a Goodgym tourist with a goal of visiting all the London boroughs Goodgym sessions. He came to me and ask if he could do and ab session for us, who was i to refuse. Oh, the moaning and groaning was nothing but awesome. It may have been a five minute workout but boy we felt it. Thanks Chi for putting us through that. Don't hurry back (joking)..........
With the tools packed up if was time to get back to Crooklog. That always involves a dash back, last one gets the burpees (which no one ever does)...... Using that as our cool down it was again time to say bye for another week......
Thanks so much guys and gals for helping tonight. I know the Danson Youth Centre really appreciated it. until next week.........

Extreme heat didn't hold the Bexley Goodgym team back this evening. We had a big task ahead of us and we wanted to give as much time to it as possible. After our quick safety briefing and warm up, we split up into two team teams and headed out to the English Gardens in Danson park. Thanks Sarah for looking after the back Pack and bringing everyone home safely. On arrival we were met with big smiles and an awesome cold drink. Our task this evening was to get the entrance area ready for when the gardens are judged this coming Thursday.
THANKS SARAH FOR LOOKING AFTER THE BACK PACK AND BRINGING EVERYONE HOME SAFELY
We had three groups doing three jobs. The weeping willow tree and bushes beneath it needed a proper hair cut. The entrance path needed a deep clean brushing to remove all the dirt and debris. And finally the flower beds either side of the entrance path needed the soil turning over. Let me tell you, tonights task was an awesome workout!!
LET ME TELL YOU, TONIGHTS TASK WAS AN AWESOME WORKOUT!!
I would like to take this moment to thank Tom and the gang at the gardens for allowing us to come and help for this event. I hope we done you proud although i think we only touched the surface of whats going to be needed to be done by this Thursday. The Bexley Goodgym team wish you the best of luck in the competition...........
With time run out it was a case of getting one last drink in before heading off back to base. Well what can i say. What a lovely evening was had by all. Well done Martin for completing your very first Goodgym, i hope you enjoyed it. And as always, a massive hi five to the rest of the team for sweating it out this evening. Until next week peeps..........

Wow. What can i say. Goodgymers just kept turning up this evening. I believe it was a Bexley Goodgym attendance record, not including opening / launch night. With 22 Goodgymers all ready to head over to the Danson Water Sports Centre to do some good i had to pull in the reins and hold them all back for our warm up. The warm up this week included a fun fitness session so everyone could get to know each other in a fun but very hot and sweaty environment. Put it this way, no one was hugging each other after it.
It was know time to head down to Danson. We split into two teams. Those wanting to do the longer quicker run, and those in training for a slower lesser distance run. Thanks Susan as always for looking after the front runners.
PUT IT THIS WAY, NO ONE WAS HUGGING EACH OTHER AFTERWARDS
On arrival at the water centre it was all hands on deck. We had several tasks to complete. We had a team litter picking and cleaning the jetty. A team sorting out all the float jackets and sorting the canoe oars into there proper places. It was then all hands on deck to lift the canoes up onto the trailers, carry some bigger canoes back up to the centre storage units, then all finishing with pulling some sailing boats and windsurfers to the units. Believe me, there was no need for any further fitness sessions after that lot.
It was just brilliant to see so many new and old faces last night. Big hi 5 to Tanya, thanks for staying up and making it. A big shout also the Emily who is going to be the brand new Hammersmith and Fulham Goodgym trainer. Hope you enjoyed the evening, and no stealing my bad habits, they took me over a year to perfect ;-) Thanks to Sarah who puts the boom in our weekly boomerang videos and photos. We love them. And not to miss out all my crew that join me every single week, no matter what the task or weather is going to be. You are all awesome.
Until next week Bexley Goodgymers...............
