Leaflet Drop For Sam Beare Hospice
On this cold freezing night 9 GG members met to deliver leaflets for Sam Beare Hospice.
A big welcome to Viktoriia who we met at the volunteer for Woking event while she was there representing another charity. Viktoriia also happened to be a friend of Agathe 😀
Wayne, Adam, Katie, Alys, Agathe, Kirsty, Nadia, & Rebecca met at Woking leisure center all wrapped up 🥶
It was great seeing Rebecca who walked over to collect some leaflets to deliver, not quite ready to run as of yet after her surgery but not long now 😀.
After a warm up session by Adam which Quinn also got involved in 🐶 we headed out of the park towards Mount Hermon to hit the houses there we split up into two groups one on each side 🏃🏻♂️ including the Cul-du-Sacs.
It was so cold even with gloves it was very difficult & Wayne & Adam had shorts on the nutters 😮
Unfortunately we did not manage to do as many roads of we had planned due to the weather, but GG members between them will take leaflets and deliver them locally throughout the week and will also be handing them out on the weekend park runs until they have all gone 😀.

Beckys 50th Good Deed 🎉
7 GoodGymers ran 40km to pick litter around Woking. The Woking Womble group consisted of Wayne, Anne, Adam, Julie, Katie, Kirsty and Rebecca. It was the first time a few of us cracked out our chest/head torches now the dark nights are drawing in. After sorting out our torches, Kirsty led the way along a new route for some of us to her childhood home. We then made our way to the station and down White Rose Lane, which is always a guaranteed route for finding litter. Rebecca disappointingly threw away an un-opened can of Madrid, she was hoping to drink to celebrate her 50th good deed.
A good evening was had by all and you can never go wrong with a run with friends while picking up litter to make our local community a better place.
Next Thursday we are at the foodbank carrying out a deep clean. 😀

Monday 23rd September
Rebecca McAlees completed their first run in a new area.
Curious? Rebecca has just run their first session in another area. For that explorative spirit Rebecca is awarded the scout badge. A Scout is trustworthy

Brush Strokes
Tonight we headed back to continue painting the fence at English Martyrs school. After several cancellations the task is definitely one that has become one that we are determined to finish before the winter months kick in.
We warmly welcomed Rebecca from Woking to our group. Becky is also a friend of our very own Daisy and also GoodGym trustee so was interested to find out what happens on the sunny south coast. It was also really interesting to hear how Woking works being volunteer led (rather than area activator led like we have in Worthing)
Joining the team tonight was alsoSarah, John, Barbara, Roxy Gillybean plus Daisy too !
Injured Gill 😪 headed off to do a bit of pruning that she had spotted needing doing last time we were there ( Gill does love her pruning ! ) John cracked on with the painting whilst the rest of us headed off for some fitness.
We combined running and sprinting around the school playing field with some functional fitness moves including squats, lunges , the dreaded burpees 🤣 shuttle runs and frog jumps. Shout out to Becky who had done the Dawny Lake triathlon yesterday and who was somewhat hobbling today but still persisted 👏
We managed to finish one big chunk of fence but there is still plenty more to do . I'm looking at a few more dates to fit in the before the light goes at the end of October - watch this space.
If you fancy a chatty social 8k this Sunday we will meet at Sea Lane cafe at 9am. All welcome including bikes and dogs. The emphasis will be on chatting not running ! I will send you all more details via the whats app group together with a link to sign up.
I'm looking forward to catching up with you all again soon - if you hear of any groups or see any tasks that need doing then please do contact me.
Thanks everyone !
Big GoodGym love

Woking Park Run
A big celebration for the GoodGym gang today as Alys completed her 100th parkrun. 🏃♀️A massive well done to Alys and for encouraging her partner along for his first ever parkrun. It was great to see Alys running along in her 100th birthday sash! Adam took part too and Becky volunteered as tailwalker. Good to see Adam building up his running distance but also keeping Rebecca company with a cool down walk for his final lap. A good morning had by all runners, walkers and volunteers. When you combine GoodGym and parkrun only good things can happen!
