Five Goodgymmers, Eleanor, Roger, Daryl, Keith and Lea, had another go at attacking the Spanish Bluebells, by fair means or foul... digging them out with bulbs and all or deadheading them. We again filled a number of wheelbarrows and the garden is looking very blueless now, much to David's delight. He will get their regular volunteers to plant new stuff. Thanks for your hard work everyone.

three Goodgymmers, Roger, Lea and Keith, turned up at St Aldhelm's church to attack the Spanish invasion.... of bluebells! Digging deep to get to the bulbs was no easy feat. Yikes, our arms today! David, the gardener was very happy with our work and hopes to see us back for more attacking of the Spanish bluebells, beautiful though they are, they are incredibly invasive!

Four Goodgymmers, Roger, Daryl, Keith and Lea, turned up at the Pine Cliff Gardens to do a job that their regular volunteers found too hard…. Right, sounds like the perfect task for us Goodgymmers! It started with a bag full of shears that had to be taken out of the back of a car. One of their volunteers suggested we each grab one or two to take down the steps to the garden. So Lea just picked up the whole bag and took it to where it needed to be, right!! There was a cordyline to plant that their volunteers couldn’t get out of the pot! Keith and Roger to the rescue. Plant out of the pot and into the ground. And the low pittosporum phedges round the beds that needed pruning: four Goodgymmers cleared that task in no time! Even getting the praise of Hilary, the honorary hedge lady!! Weather perfect + view perfect + Goodgymmers perfect = another task ✅

Four Goodgymers meet at Bishop Aldhelms school its been to long its nice to go back again. We where tasked with cutting back the gorse which has taken over so we set to with loper's and saws we soon had the gorse cut back its going to make a big difference as the school children can walk round the garden paths without catching on the gorse. We cleared up and said our goodbyes knowing a good job was done.

Four Goodgymmers, Daryl, Roger, Lea and Keith joined six Bournemouth Ploggers for our first litterpick of 2026. Festive season over… litterpick season on! Plenty to find on the beach and around the chine. Lots of cuttlefish bones, causing confusion… “oh right: that’s not litter, oh but that white bit there is!” And as to meeting point: a bit more confusion, top/bottom of the steps?! We all found each other in the end and then spread out again to pick up LITTER! Lea was nurdling on the beach; Nick was scouring the parking area, Angie and Chris were promenading, Keith and Daryl found a bag full of clothes, not wearable anymore. But Roger, Katherine and Gemma won “the weirdest find” award x2 even. A punchbag hung up out of view in the trees. The other find: well, something to inform the police about… Anyway, good job done by everyone with lots of litter picked up and binned. With the cuttle confusion there are probably (read: most likely) quite a few bits of cuttlefish bones in the bin. Thanks a bunch, everyone.
