Nearly 5 years ago, one of GoodGym Stockport's earliest tasks was to help Alexandra Park Primary School to de-weed and clear up their outdoor area to allow it to be utilised by the pupils in the warmer months. 5 years on and we were back for more of the same!
We set off from our Life Leisure base for an uphill sprint, with a scenic park loop added for mindful measure and clocked up 3km before arriving at the School.
Peter, the school's Business Manager, greeted us with tools and tasks and we set off with the challenge of clearing the area of weeds.
We dug, we shovelled, we weeded and we chatted before completing the task (bang on time!)

This week's group run felt like the first of the spring run so we took the opportunity to get in a social and chatty 5km circuit.
We covered paths and parks while catching up on life's adventures and shaking off the daily grind!
We are looking forward to getting stuck back in to our green tasks as the lights become lighter!
Sometimes, taking pleasure in the small things like the cloudless sky and some active miles makes for a Runderful life!

The Food Bank Run is a movement that is gaining pace in 2024.
Created off the back of a run started several years ago by Hampshire based running club, Fareham Running Club, they're now encouraging every club, group and food bank to link up and create their own Food Bank Run.
So this is a task we support a few times a year!
We raided cupboards, packed our sacks and set off for a weighted run to our local food bank drop off point.
We did two 4km circuit runs to the food bank, with our sacks and spirits lighter on our return!

Every so often, for our group run, we pack in the miles and have a social, chatty run and yesterday was the perfect evening for it!
We completed a 3km warm up lap then set off for a further 4km circular jog.

With the local area looking like a winter wonderland, ice underfoot and our route looking more like an ice rink than a pathway, we swapped our group run for independent snow walks to up the miles in January Challenge!

With the neighbourhoods packed with sweet munching monsters, skeletons and witches, there was bound to be some serious plogging potential so off we set on our own Halloween plogging task.
Even the canine companions got involved! 🎃👻🕷️
