In true Goodgym style, Carys ran, Carol and Sarah walked, Sheila cycled, and Helen came straight from a Pilates class to volunteer at the Baby Bank. There we met with Sam, Mark and Kate for our regular Friday morning session. Helen and Sheila were put onto checking Baby Buggies. The airport had just delivered dozens of buggies that had been left at the airport and never reclaimed. These were checked for age, quality and suitability for handing out to families, and cleaned. Any lightweight ones were put aside to be sold to raise funds. Afterwards we joined the other upstairs who were busy clothes-sorting and putting together referrals. Helen and Sheila went through the shoe donations, checking they weren't too scuffed or dirty. By the end of the session, the checked clothes had been sorted and the shoe donation travel cot was empty. Result! It was great to see so many Goodgymers there, making a real difference

We gathered an amazing 7 Goodgymers together for a session at the Baby Bank this morning. It was lovely to welcome Carys for her first ever Goodgym community mission, Sam for her second and Kate for her third! Kate has been volunteering regularly at the Baby Bank for a while, but I've only just found out that she is a signed up Goodgym member. She kept that quiet! Regulars Amanda, Sarah, Carol and Sheila completed the septet. Most of us were dealing with sorting through the enormous piles of clothes donations and finding homes for them. The newcomers quickly got to grips with the standards the Baby Bank operate under, and there were lots of oohs and aahs over some very cute clothing. Meanwhile Kate and Amanda were putting together referral packs. We had some lovely chats as we worked, and hopefully we'll see you all again soon
Wednesday 29th January
Sam Bennett earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Sam completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Sam was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.
Wednesday 29th January
Sam Bennett has done their first good deed with GoodGym.
Sam is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

10 Goodgymers including first, but definitely not her last timer Sam made their way to the second session at the Green Skills Library
This time round host Donna put us straight to work and showed us how to line planters using old pub umbrellas (if Carlsburg made Goodgym tasks....)
Sam T proved he was very handy with a staple gun- and got the liners stapled into place in no time! Luckily no Final Destination moments occured!
The other team members turned their hands to painting the planters with an array of colours including taking inspiration from Mr Blobby (or planets in Sam's case), lovely leaves by our resident artist Amy and the grand finale of the GoodGym planter!
A successful and satisfying task all around
