Meanwhile in Westminster the sun was shining and it was HOT. Our task for the day? To run down to the oasis centre and save the wilting flowers, fruit and veg by pouring water alllllll over them.
Now as this task was only a mile away I decided to plan an extended route and give the people what they requested. A nice run in the sun.
After a low down of what makes GG great, a health and safety brief and some announcements we were off. 2 miles of joy through all the back streets we could find only hitting human traffic just before arriving at this pretty oasis in the middle of central London.
With 2 simple requests, firstly water the plants, secondly DO NOT FALL in the POOL lol, we were off. 15 minutes later the water had brought everything back to life and we ghosted out in the same way we ghosted in.
Now why run strait back when you can continue to explore. 2 miles and a lot of sweat later for a stretch and smile.
Thanks for joining us, catch you all next week.

Meanwhile at Westminster due to a late cancellation we headed down to our dear friend Andrew at Rhythms of Life to help him sort through some clothes for rough sleepers and tidy up an area that is currently being used to store food which is also handed out to rough sleepers.
We met at 615 of Regents Street and as usual by 630 our briefing was done and dusted and we set off in search of a quiet stretch of road in this ridiculous heat.
Weaving in and out of jolly pub goers and sun searchers we hit a nice rhythm on the back streets only stopping for red lights and traffic jams.
We arrived safely and greeted the ever cheerful Andrew with the simple message, "WE are only here for half an hour Andrew" lol. He laughed, gave us a tour of the building and told us what needed to be done.
Move clothes from A-B, move food from A-B and the fun part clean all floors everywhere so thats exactly what we did.
Half an hour later the place smelt like an alpine forest and everything was where it should have been.
He waved us, we did some amazing calf burning activation drills a few sprints in the now beautiful rain and headed back to base just in time for tea. A few stretches and we were out.
Thanks to everyone who came out to play, hopefully see you all next week...

Meanwhile in Westminster 13 brave souls headed north for the evening in a bid to prevent a beautiful community gardens flowers and plants from slipping into a state of dryness and slowly but surely wilting away.
Today we headed over to the Oasis green gym. A community garden set up and run completely by local volunteers. Prior to Susannah and her team kick starting this initiative with a community grant there were no trees or flowers, plants, fruit or veg to speak of.
Since they have taken over the space they have put together a number of planters filled with all kinds of goodness inclusive of my favourite snack SPINACH.
Any how as this task was only a mile away from us we flew there at pace, weaving our way as normal through the back streets to avoid traffic lights and congestion popping out nicely in covent garden.
On arrival we greeted by a few members of staff who guided us through to the plants.
A quick health and safety briefing about NOT FALLING IN THE SWIMMING POOL followed by a lovely briefing from our host about the history of the garden and correct watering technique. Watering cans and hoses and were handed out and we were off.
Obviously regardless of how much there was to water with a team of 13 it was finiiiito in 15 minutes flat.
Group picture, some sad goodbyes and we were off. Now the question was posed, do you want a hard and fast 1 mile back or do you want a steady 2miler back. SO me being that guy we ran 1.5miles hard and fast and jogged the other half mile back to base with GIANT smiles on our faces.
Thanks for your time folks.... Hopefully we will see yalllll next week.

Sixteen awesome GoodGym folk ran 7km to help spruce up a 150 year old youth club in Westminster!
On a gloomy Wednesday evening 16 wonderful GoodGym-ers piled into what was definitely the wrong room (no apple and coca cola update - sorry!) at the University of Westminster to be briefed on a great task and decent run for the evening.
More fluoro!
With Cory away, having a well-earned post-London Marathon break, GG Westminster was in my hands and so I tried to channel some of the Cory magic by wearing odd shoes – not sure anyone noticed – more fluoro next time Pritesh!
Tonight we were running to the St Andrews Club in the heart of Westminster which is the longest running youth club in the world at 150 years old! They offer facilities from ages five to adulthood in a safe and welcoming environment.
With a few regulars knowing the route we had Howard leading us down to the club. As ever running in the streets of busy Westminster is always a challenge but Howard was a great help and ably led everyone safely down to the club.
Getting the job done
Adrian, the Deputy Club Manager, met us and led us through to the gym we were working on. With cleaning spray, wipes and cloths ready we go down to the task at hand. We were helping to clean and sanitise the gym at St Andrews to ensure that the members could use the space safely. As ever with GoodGym everyone got stuck in and we were done in no time even requesting extra tools so we could really get the space clean! 'Top' effort from Alex using his height to get to those hard to reach places!
After we had finished the task Adrian took us on a tour of the facilities, it's a really special place and there was a good vibe from everyone there and it was great to see so many people using the facilities. What we hadn't accounted for were the delicious smells coming from the open kitchen as we walked through the club, there's nothing like the smell of home-cooked pizza to get those stomach going when you've just been running and working!
Mmmm, pizza...
With the tour complete, Adrian thanked us profusely and it was time for the run back (well after Bella had picked up her leaflets ;)). Howard did a great job leading again (thank you!) and the whole group did great pounding through the 3.5k with ease. With the biblically dark clouds gathering we were pleased to get back to base, get a good stretch in and be changed and out before the heavens opened!
Make sure to sign up for next week's run here!
Great running and 'tasking' everyone!
