A beautiful spring evening in BEAUTIFUL BATH with 15 lovely fellow Goodgymers and a nice 7.5k run out to Action on Hearing Loss to do some weeding for our lovely host Evan. What more could you want.
Tonights run was our second visit since launching to Action on Hearing Loss in Watery lane , It`s a great place providing care and support for deaf and hard of hearing in Bath. No time to waste this evening so after a debrief from Steph and a warm welcome to everyone the group headed outside for a headcount before hitting the streets for a flat but long run out to tonight's task.
We arrived with MOUNDS of energy and our host Evan was waiting to greet us armed with TROWELS AND TUBS ready to tackle the raised flower beds. Evan took charge and split the group making sure only WEEDS were being evicted from the beds and not the lovely RED TULIPS. Rosie, Soinda,Louise and Jess looked just the part amongst the flower beds.
Everyone DUG IN to the task set as we only had 25 minutes after dishing out gloves to get to grips with the task in hand but as I always say, it`s amazing how much you can achieve in a short time with eager Goodgymers at the ready. It was great to see everyone chatting whilst they worked, nothing like meeting new people whilst having fun and doing GOOD.
After a clear up it was time to say goodbye to Evan and grab a group photo and my first and final attempt at a selfie (down under stylie) John was on the ball with tonight's pun in a true UFO style... Thanks John!! We bid farewell to Emily Hermione Jess Alexandra and Rebecca on route with Louise bidding us farewell a short distance later.
Mary was running like a dream tonight and she certainly helped pick up the pace back to the leisure centre ensuring the group arrived back with a precious 2 minutes to spare for a Stava check and a well earned stretch out.
You are all amazing people putting yourself through your paces and doing great stuff in the community and if you missed out tonight there is a run this Saturday so feel free to come along and bring a friend or five.

Soinda has done their first good deed with GoodGym.
Soinda is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

Our last group run in the dark for a not so HATEFUL EIGHT in Bath tonight and a chance to burn off some calories before the group start tucking into those Easter Eggs at the weekend. The task tonight was a HEARTY one covering a distance of 7k in total for The British Heart foundation delivering charity collection bags.
A very warm welcome tonight to Louise and Soinda joining us for their first Goodgym run. After a debrief on Goodgym and tonight's task the group headed outside for a swift warm up and intro to the group before CHASING THE PAVEMENTS ( thank you Joseph for tonight's pun). Rosie very kindly volunteering to be backmarker tonight.
We took the river route out towards Widcombe for the start of our run with a chance for Squats after our first street sweep working like an AEROBATIC DISPLAY TEAM maybe not quiet THE RED ARROWS but pretty close and they only got better. Re grouping at Horseshoe walk after Team Rosie Got carried away and for a split second we thought they had gone up to SHAM CASTLE( built in 1762 by Richard James master mason for Ralph Allen) for a quick selfie, I have promised to do some historical feature every week so this one will feature very soon on our routes.
The Horseshoe was completed in record time before the group tackled Bathwick Hill, known for it`s Historic houses that line the streets leading up to the university but thankfully we took a left hand turn and a chance to practise our walking lunges before a change in direction and some press ups at Sydney gardens and a group photo outside The Holbourn museum. We made a final sweep along the Paragon posting the last of our bags before heading down through Milsom street towards Bath Abbey taking in the beautiful architecture of Angels climbing ladders and a promise to climb the bell tower in the near future.
Task done with 10 minutes to spare for a cool down and well deserved stretch out back at the leisure centre. A reminder that everyone can get more involved in our Goodgym community or paired up with your very own coach for your runs.
Sam is looking for guinea pigs for his massage course so if you'd like a free massage then Sam is your man, just drop me an email and I will put you in touch. We also plan to have a post run drinks for those who would like now the lighter nights are upon us giving us a chance to socialise.
Great job done tonight with an average of £10 per bag if filled for the British heart foundation.
