I was joined by Sophie and Ed today at Alberta Estate Communal Gardens on a lovely sunny Sunday morning. We met Alex who informed us of our task which involved moving a huge delivery of woodchip to a corner of the garden. It was a big task as there were a good few tonnes of the chip to be moved. We powered on through and managed to get all the woodchip moved and even had a chance to cover some of the beds in the woodchip to prevent weeds from growing and improve the soil quality. Our reward at the end was picking some delicious berries they had been growing on the estate!!

Early on Saturday morning, I ran down to Tooting to help some other volunteers start setting up for the annual Tooting Community Fun Day! This was the first year the Fun Day could go ahead again since Covid.
The main bulk of the task involved taking all the tables out of storage and assemble them along the street. I also helped set up the chairs and hang up the bunting - more challenging than expected in the wind ๐
The Fun Day is a great project which brings the Tooting community together - I hope the weather holds up for them!

On Wednesday evening, @Nikki and I ran down to Clapham Junction to help the environmental charity, Traid, take all their unsold clothes off hangers and pack them up, ready to be taken back to the warehouse๐ฆ A fresh stock of clothes will arrive tomorrow!
Traid is focussed on reducing waste, increasing reuse and fighting poverty ๐ช Itโs a fantastic cause and we were both really happy to be able to help out today.
