Stephanie Wells earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Stephanie completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Stephanie was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Hackney Report written by Clair Sim
On Saturday morning Goodgym joined our friends the Tree Musketeers at their community nursery in Hackney. After a 5k warmup at next doorโs hackney marshes parkrun, a bumper crop of goodgymers met to get stuck into three tasks. Group one were weeding round an apple tree and another part of the nursery so that the volunteers can expand a flower bed. Group two dug out a soil pile so it could be raised onto a pallet for better drainage. This involved hand drilling holes into a board to go on top of the pallet. This is to prevent a disease called Phytophera, which is not present at the nursery, but could be a threat. Group 3 scrubbed a mammoth pile of plant pots and bags to ensure theyโre clean and uncontaminated for the next batch of trees to be planted. A little over two hours of hard graft later we were rewarded with as many apples as we could fit in our bags to take home. The nursery is open the last Saturday of every month all year round so get September in your diaries when hopefully the sloe berries will be ready to harvest. Cheers!

20 GoodGymers ran 4K to Hackney Wick Community Garden to pick up 2 huge piles of sticks and be treated to an amazing Summer BBQ!!
A run with a difference this week!! First we welcomed Danny to the GG record books!! completing an his Good Deeding Century in an astonishing 162 days!! Going through the gears like Jos Butler (cricketer) to complete 50-100 GoodDeeds in 52 days!! ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ๐ช๐ฝ๐ช๐ฝ well played sir!!
We ran down through the beautiful Victoria park past the greatest Kids Nursary in the world to find a spot for a 10 minute body weight circuit blast! Hitting up some strong leg work out with a little core and upper body at the end. Before we jogged around the corner to the Hackney Wick Community Garden.
We got stuck right in with moving pallets, watering a very thirsty garden and getting sticky with 2 huge piles of sticks!
Lifting, shifting and tipping big bag after big bag of sticks as well as hydrating the flowers, herbs and vegetables as well as a solid shoulder workout on the wooden pallets we certainly earned our feed!!
What a feed it was!! As a special reward for our year of hard graft in the garden an amazing array of exotic and magical food was laid on many of the ingredients grown in the garden!! Lots of chat, eating and smiles before we drifted off into the night. (Sorry for lack of BBQ pictures! I got sidetracked eating).
See you next week
Smooth Running
