York Report written by Leanne (she/her)
7 GG yorkies met at museum gardens to be reunited with the long lost Lionel who we promptly added to the register to make us a team of 8. It turned out Lionel was front runner for Prom King with multiple mentions from the Town Crier (who was doubling as compere) about his programme wielding skills.
The rest of us dispersed in pairs for 'general duties' which mostly included directing people to the toilets.
Jane and Leanne quickly realised that standing too near the toilets meant that they'd be confronted with lots of reports of things that weren't working, so moved away to do a litter pick around the gardens. This led to the opportunity for Jane to teach someone to open their rucksack... Meanwhile Becky helped a lady put up her camping chair while others got fit by helping people with heavy picnic baskets. Tracey was a little bit too pleased to report how much she annoyed people by asking them to follow the rules, but redeemed herself when she and Amy came to the rescue of someone who fell over.
Once everyone was through the gates, Elle set up her picnic blanket and provided a lovely spread for her fellow GGs to enjoy along with the show.

4.15 rendezvous @ museum gardens main gate opted for scanning in punters Hmm @ my 1st ever go I unsuccessfully tried to use wrong end of scanner, D'OH but in 5min i was quite proficient @ this simple task. The day was a sell out so we worked like dogs getting crowd in pausing only for the unalloyed joy of people trying to get glass perfume btls thru security & having to leave a 100ml of Jimmy Choo in the dirt (play stupid games win stupid prizes) Ahem madam your ticket please, OMD were by far the standout act for me with many bands appearing to be tribute acts of themselves but a fun day was had 😁

We met in museum gardens in slightly damp conditions to help set up for the art and health Mela tomorrow.
Our main job was to erect many gazebos!
We'll be back tomorrow morning to help with moving tables, then goodgym will be at a stall all day
Saturday 16th May

Tracey Oxley completed their first weekend mission.
Tracey has forgone the usual weekend routine. Instead of lie-ins, roasts and strolls around the park Tracey has dropped everything to run a GoodGym mission for someone who needed help. Respect
Saturday 16th May

Tracey has just done something they've never done before. Tracey has just run a mission; they've changed their running route and run to help someone who really needed their help.
