In all my years of GoodGym missions, I think this was my first time venturing south of the river! But it was an easy journey, simply requiring me to wheel my bike over Barnes Bridge into Richmond borough.

The rain held off for my visit to Ms J, whose overgrown garden has been causing her a lot of anxiety. Over the course of 90 mins, we made great progress, clearing two areas that Ms J would like eventually to turn into flowerbeds. At the end, there was time to impress Ms J with the plant identification tool in my phone camera, so she now knows that the lovely fruit overhanging her back door are actually blue crown passion flowers.

There’s still more to be done, but Ms J was visibly relieved and delighted to get things started in her garden.
