It was an evening of double good deeds, heavy lifting and a longer run and 12 superstars tackled it with ease!

We had a double task planned for yesterday evening, heading out on our group run to the PNK Garden and helping our friends at GG Southwark at Rose Court Care Home.

To get to spend enough time at the tasks we needed to be heading off in good time - thanks for arriving promptly everyone!

The tasks for the evening were to:

  • empty, move and fill the planters at the care home but this group didn't shy away from some heavy lifting and managed to move the planters to their new spots without emptying them. Check out Laura's run report for pics!

Over at the PNK Garden our tasks were to:

  • move heavy bags of sand and stone to either the rubbish pile/area or to a new location. We had to have a moment to work out how to move an extremely heavy bag of sand and stone, eventually deciding to decant into bags and wheel barrow and pour into its new location.
  • move soil from bin bags to grow bags which were organised into a very neat line by Steve
  • move rocks and rubble to the rubbish pile which Chan and Isaac made look easy!
  • moving pallets to a new location
  • moving the very heavy marble to a slightly new location

All this moving of heavy items meant we got a strength work out in and the garden was looking much tidier when we left.

We were rewarded by a harvest of tomatoes, chard and spring onions from the garden - thanks!

Don't forget its the social on Saturday (2pm Ladywell Fields)!
