In addition to my usual path clearing, Maria asked me to try to salvage some nice long brambles that she planned to strip down, soak in water and remove the thorns, and use for weaving bramble baskets! This makes sense given how tough they can be. It got a bit stabby but I managed to collect a good pile before heading back to work.
