Following up from the previous week where a group of GoodGymers already made a start on helping out a BnB owner, who opens up their property to a homeless charity as a night shelter during winter, we were the second crew to get involved. While some people touched up marks on walls with fresh paint, other had the (arguably) less fun job to deep clean the rooms, including the bathrooms. And with deep cleaning, I mean real deep. Caroline and Jason turned over mattresses, moved beds, and took apart cupboards to hover every little inch of the rooms. Dave and Richard had the best time catching up whilst doing some painting. Phill's height came in handy for painting above kitchen cupboards and ceilings. All together we cleaned a good number of rooms, but room number 4 was definitely our favourite.
well done everyone!

Having met at the rendezvous point to move on to our secret location, we were met by the smiling faces of the people who’ve been keeping the Bristol Churches Winter Night Shelter project along with a hoover, two carpet washers and lots of painting kit.
Splitting into floors and walls teams, we were soon smartening up the communal areas of the B&B erasing or covering up lots of wear and tear marks.
It was great to have Ryan and Rosie along for their first good deed, to see Will and Roz again on a task (Will doesn’t know his own strength) and to walk back to the city centre with Jason - all round loveliness! Same again next week?

Our last sessions to help the Bristol Churches Winter Night Shelter 2021/22 season which was again based at a guest house instead of rotating between church halls, due to Covid restrictions.
The whole place is painted PBW (pure brilliant white, it turns out) and we were put in charge of covering up the scuffs and scrapes. We set to with brushes and rollers and good quality thick paint. It wad very satisfying to see it all look fresh and ready for new guests.

Jason and I were off to an early start with an 8am Community Mission. We helped to lift and move a fridge and washing machine at the night shelter accomodation in preparation for its guests arriving later today.
Our hands were too full to take photos so here's an autumnal November greeting.
It was a lovely start to the day/week/month

Four GoodGymers met on a chilly Tuesday evening at a BnB to help assemble a number of beds. The BnB has been assisting with providing homeless people a safe place to stay during the pandemic.
We welcomed Megan tonight on her first ever GoodGym mission! Was great to meet you.
We paired up and split between the room to help out. I underestimated how challenging putting up beds was! Well done everyone, great work :)
