Fantastic sunshine for the first Group Walk/Run since the clocks went forward for British Summer Time and we were making the most of it at Brunswick Cemetery whilst the ground (and gravel) were dry. All after the prunners (the prun being the pre-run run) arrived finishing off their ice creans after a harbour loop/photo shoot.
Many hands and a few trowels and forks made light work of the "finding the spiral path AGAIN" task, hoping that the new Council mowing system of not leaving all the clippings and seeds on the mown grass will make a difference this year. We can hope - at least the gravel had dried enough the grass and other weeds were easy to pull out!
Meanwhile, Harsheh and Darren werr putting the root puller to good use taking on the bramble roots between the tombs.
With lots of progress in the Cemetery, it was time for the runners and walkers to head back to Queen Square and on to Pho (now pronounced Fuh, not Fe) for much good food and company.
Spring is here!

A gorgeous morning for not just clearing lots of weeds but actually planting things - rescuing some from other places in the Cemetery or from other spaces we help in - sharing the love (and pulling out the buttercups and brambles). Perfect 👌

It was fantastic to meet up with Alpha Run Club and Share Bristol on a very Sunny Sunday for a tidy up of Bedminster and a chat along the way.
Splitting into smaller groups (with some not-yet GoodGymmers to be persuaded of the loveliness that could be theirs), we spread out to different corners of BS3 with our litter and recycling bags to wander, sorry, walk and run with purpose, collecting up everything we found. Including a lottery ticket that sadly wasn’t a winner.
We were soon carrying heavy bags with all the “goodies” found but kept going until we could carry no more and headed back to the Library of Things to check in, have a cup of tea and compare litter picking tales.
Happy Sunday!

Welcome to the annual transformation from Night Shelter to B&B. The tasks included painting, cleaning, shifting things and eating left over food.
The cleaning was mainly of the bathrooms and what an amazing job was done! Painting was continuing the excellent job done on Thursday with roller and brush. Shifting? Well how do you fancy moving a tumble dryer? You do? Excellent! Finally the eating. All I can say is 😋 Well done everyone. I’ve eaten my ice cream I got on the way home so this is the end of the report!
Until next time…
