On a sunny Sunday afternoon in Southsea, four Goodgym runners got together to go on a 5km shuffle around Southsea Common whilst spreading some good musical fitness vibes to the people of Southsea. It was a brilliant and bright afternoon (despite the usual wind!).
This was the first Sunday Shuffle to strictly follow the Goodgym rules (- naughty Andy!), and this also meant it was Andy's Run Leader assessment! He nominated Dave to take on back marker duties (thanks Dave!), but unfortunately he had naughty Jen keeping him on his toes by deciding today would be the day to run over all of the benches in Southsea! N.B. You take part at your own risk, Jen! This was also the first time that Andy met Nia, after previously only being involved in some virtual challenges together - as always with Goodgym, it was a pleasure.
Post-run we saw Sammy, who joined us during the cool down and helped us out by taking some photos (thanks Sammy!), and then we headed to the pier for an (almost) disastrous coffee-shop experience!
Has Andy passed?! Only time will tell.

Andy thank you for the shuffle! Great tunes and great company. Good luck with the assessment!

We welcomed back Amie for her second task this week - glad we didn't scare you off last time! Amie was one of Team Red this evening, alongside Katie and Sinéad. Myself, Dave and Andy then turned up in quick succession with our Goth GGs (black tees), making it 3 - 3. Sammy arrived at the last minute in her black top, so Team Goth were the winners!
Joined by Mini-GGer, Alice, we ran to Kingston Rec where we met Nick and got started on our litter pick. Our first unusual find was a small wheel, spotted by Andy. As we made our way around the park, we also picked up a set of handle bars and a scooter board. Our photos look quite little like an assembly guide for a mismatched scooter! We also found an onion in the woods, followed by some egg shells, chillis and a bulb of garlic under a bush. I wonder if some of the local foxes were making some bougie omelets!
We completely filled two enormous Colas bags, impressive work in just under an hour! Nice work, everyone.

We had an excellent first Sunday Shuffle around Southsea Common listening to a variety of music which kept the team moving.
We followed this up with a coffee whilst sat in the warm sunshine at the Briny, where we had some interesting conversations about killer carrots and carrot headbands, strawberries vs tomatoes as hats, and whether the leeks are higher than the peaks!
Well done everyone!

The annual Baffins Pond Easter Egg Hunt took place and was the busiest ever!
With the need of an extra 50 eggs from the shop, there was multiple re stocks of tokens needed. Samantha, Andy and Dave came from parkrun.
And we were quickly put to work. Tables needed assembling and cleaning after all the rain this year had flooded the container!
Then we were put to work weeding the area outside the hall. Bribed with hot drinks!!
Before the token hiding began as the queue had started to build.
The Easter Bunny graced us with their presence too!!

We welcome Amie for her first ever GoodGym session this evening - visit her profile to give her a cheer! 🎉
After a rather steep incline up to the task, we got stuck in with weeding the vegetable planters, under the supervision of Sue. Check out the before and after photos, this difference is mega. We also re-located some spring onions to be with their friends, before they got consumed by the thriving potato plants!
Andy uncovered a teeny plastic file whilst weeding down the paths, whilst we admired Amie's super-handy weeding device. Unfortunately, removing the weeds from the sand and gravel paths was not as satisfying as in the raised beds, but we powered through and got quite a lot cleared.
