Another great cleaning session clearing up after the lunch service at the homeless drop in centre run by Faith in Action.

Our trusty trio of Jade, Chris and Zahrah (big welcome back from your travels!) soon got stuck in to the table wiping, chair stacking, surface sanitising and floor mopping.

We soon had it under control, leaving no signs that a wonderful lunch had just been served to a host of hungry people.

We headed over to Faith in Action to lend a hand with the post-lunch cleanup, stepping in just as the busy meal service wrapped up.

Our team got straight to work clearing tables and chairs before getting stuck in with a thorough mop of the hall floor. It’s always brilliant to know our help makes a real impac, this time giving the wonderful staff and dedicated volunteers a well-deserved breather. After being on shift for most of the day, our clean allowed them to finish up early or tackle their admin while we took care of the heavy lifting. Another fantastic session in the bag, leaving the space spotless and ready for next time. Well done team.

With the lunch rush wrapped up, our two-person team stepped in to give the hard-working volunteers a boost at the end of a long shift. Dividing up the duties made quick work of the remaining chores. One of us took charge of the kitchen, tackling the various cleaning jobs, including scrubbing down surfaces, while the other took to the main hall sweeping up the floor, clearing tables and stacking chairs away. Our help allowed the entire session to wrap up significantly earlier than usual. The space was left sparkling, smelling fresh, and ready for the next service. We hope to be back with a monthly session here, so keep an eye out for the next one and join us if you can.

We rounded off 8 weeks of support with one final push, vacuuming the hall and arranging chairs to leave the space spotless. It’s been great to be involved in such an important cause and we are proud to have seen it through to the very last seat.

We made light work of packing up the night shelter this morning, proving that two hands are definitely better than one and with Henry the vacuum helping, the a mountain of bedding and chairs to shiftwas sorted with time to spare before cracking onto the next job.

Tonights job was fairly speedy preparing the church hall for the night shelter, expertly shifting rows of chairs and making up the beds to ensure a warm welcome for guests. We also got the tables laid and Suja lent an extra hand in the kitchen to help get the evening's food prep underway.
