Six enthisiastic Good gymers visited the new home of the Green Skills Library in Maidenhead to help clean up. After much scrubbing, elbow grease and polishing the kitchen shone and sparkled. We emptied buckets and bowls of dirty water down the sinks, a satisfying task!

6 Goodgymmers rallied to help not one but two beneficiaries tonight.
First up were ShareaLot who needed help removing the last few bits from the Nicholson Centre. The items were loaded into wagons and pulled over the road to storage at the Green Skills Library's new premises. The team made short work of this and the final boxes, signs, TV and mirror were swiftly relocated.
This left us a bit of time to help the Green Skills Library wrangle some bags of fabric and get them tied up ready to be moved. We even gave the floor a quick sweep!
Then it was off into the lovely dry evening and we will be back at the Green Skills Library on Wednesday!!

3 GoodGymers met on a windy and rainy evening for an indoor task - lucky us! What was not lucky was the constant beep of the alarm where we were working. Thankfully we're a talkative lot and the sound didn't bother us much.
This evening we helped the Green Skills Library as they continue their preparation to move to the new location. There were a lot of ties to be snipped off a metal frame, to free up baubles and light strings which were well encased in cling film. Methodically, we worked through them and before long we had dismantled 5 metal frames, freeing up-too-many-to-count baubles and lights.
We walked away in the rain, leaving task owner Donna happy and thankful once again.

On the 20th day of May, Goodgym said to me...
9 Goodgymmers gymming 8 people snipping 7 reams of tinsel 6 strings of lights 5 bare baubles 4 bare bottoms....
9 Goodgymmers made their way to green skills library to held with the de-assembly of the old bauble decorations in the nicholsons centre
There was lots of reminiscing about the good old days of Smokeys, but we still made quick work of the task and soon had a pile of naked baubles in the corner!
another successful task down!

14 GoodGymers turned out for the first Wednesday night session of the year to help the wonderful Green Skills Library. Kudos to Jess for leading a group to run from the Community Centre to get to the task. It was great to welcome Monnish for his first ever task and Sinead for her second. We were met by our Taskowner Donna who led us down into the old Smokeys Nightclub. It evoked some good memories for some! One group sorted the donated fabrics into types, so that they can be re-used in community projects. We came across some fabulous and interesting fabrics. One person's rags is another person's riches, and Donna is certainly determined to use the riches stored in that room for the good of the community. Another group sorted the stationery, creating order from chaos. The hour just flew by, and great progress was made. Thanks to Amy for the impromptu arm press-up session to help warm everyone up

Great to see a big turn out of GoodGymers tonight. 12 happy volunteers met on the roof of Nicolsons Centre, a part of Maidenhead most of us had never been before. Task owner Donna led us from the back entrance to what used to be a nightclub, Smokeys. No disco lights or bars anymore, just a stripped out large space housing all kinds of materials from fabric to paints, from stationery to sewing machines!
Our task was to organise things as best as we could. We made good progress and grouped the material lying in two rooms of Smokeys into categories such as Paints, Arts & crafts, Stationery, Fabric, Leather, Sewing, Gardening, Jars and more. From here, they will slowly be taken down to the Green Skills library to be upcycled.
We were so efficient that there was even time for some fun with a block of stone, a chisel and hammer! Another productive, social evening and a thankful task owner.
