This morning we were back at a gloriously sunny and crisp Milton Country Park parkrun ๐งฃ๐งค
Caroline woke up bright and early to help with pre-event set-up, walking a lap of the course to put out signs and cones to guide the runners and walkers, and then gave the first timers briefing. Helping out before the start meant Caroline could brave the cold and still run, proudly showing off her GoodGym tshirt and parkrun volunteer socks! ๐งฆ
Catherine took on the fabulous role of congratulating and handing out tokens to the relieved finishers, keeping warm at the finish line and making new friends ๐
After the event, everyone celebrated with a man named Gordon on his 500th parkrun! ๐ What an amazing achievement, the GoodGymers are feeling suitably inspired.
The girls then went to a local cafe for coffee and pastries, for some added social fun ๐ฅโ๏ธ
What a wonderful start to our weekend!

This morning, GoodGym were helping out at Milton Country parkrun ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
Alexandra represented while running and helped with close-down, and Caroline gave the first timers briefing and handed out finish tokens. It was lovely to see people smiling as they completed their first parkrun!
We were excited to learn that there will be a parkrun on new year's day, so watch this space! ๐

What a delight to be out doing some good on a perfect autumnal morning. ๐
GoodGymers supported parkruns across Cambridge with Alexandra park walking and Catherine supplying finish tokens at Coldham's Common, and Caroline park walking at Milton Country Park.
Caroline celebrated her 10th parkrun volunteering milestone with company as her favourite auntie and favourite mother (self-titled) came all the way from South Wales for their first ever parkrun. Well done team ๐
Park walking allowed for a different experience, encapsulating the true spirit of parkrun: "We enjoyed the gorgeous weather and being out in nature, with the autumnal leaves and stopping to enjoy the beautiful views. We were surprised and appreciative of runners offering their support as they went by." ๐

It felt very autumnal at this morning's parkrun and we enjoyed a lap of the course through the woods and crunching leaves on the way to our marshalling points.
Marshalling was a perfect first volunteer role for Daiana who is a pro at motivating runners having supported a number of races ๐ฃ
We kept spirits high as runners and walkers completed the course, and then lifted our own spirits with delicious cake and a chat when all the excitement was over. Exactly the kind of balance we love ๐ฐ

Two GoodGymers top and tailed Milton Country parkrun, arriving early doors for set up and staying to cheer the tail walkers across the finish line before packing down.
It turns out there's more to setting up a parkrun than placing cones and signs as Caroline discovered. Armed with shears, she walked the route, trimming unruly branches and nettles and clearing the path of wayward apples. Now we know!
We enjoyed running parkrun this week as well, taking in the beautiful route through woodland, alongside the calming lakes. All in all, a cracking start to the weekend ๐
