Traid is a charity promoting reducing waste by championing second-hand fashion while raising funds to support global projects improving the lives of workers in fashion industry and preventing child labour.
On sunny Monday evening, a slightly smaller than usual group of GoodGymers joined the Traid team in their Shepherd's Bush store for the seasonal packdown of the old stock. The neighbouring GoodGym areas: Hounslow, Ealing and Hammersmith & Fulham sent one person each to help remove the light and colourful spring clothes and make space for even more vivid summer outfits. Jalal, Pippa and Kash, despite being only a trio, nearly doubled the pairs of hands involved in the operation!
In less than 70 minutes all the clothes landed in massive cardboard boxes destined to be sent to the warehouse, and all the hangers - in bags. The whole Traid team was extremely grateful to the GoodGym team for making their big packdown evening much shorter - such lovely people! A the GoodGymers? What legends!

Today a team of five GoodGym volunteers helped out at a clothing shop by preparing winter clothes for storage. We worked together to sort and pack the winter garments carefully into large boxes so they would be ready for storage. Along the way we also collected wooden and plastic hangers and packed them into boxes, helping to clear and organise the shop floor. It was a great team effort, with everyone pitching in to lift, sort, and pack. By the end of the session the space looked much tidier and more organised, and it was great to see how much we achieved together. Another productive mission completed by the GoodGym team! 💪

Four Goodgymers from Hounslow and Ealing were so keen to hang out with each other they signed up for not one but two tasks helping out Traid with their stock clearance. TRAID is an environmental charity working to tackle and solve the problems caused by producing, consuming and disposing of clothes.
After finishing up at the Hammersmith store, Sevan and Kash set off on foot, while Chris and I jumped on our bikes and headed over to Shepherd’s Bush, where we met Holly.
The five of us got stuck in, removing clothes from hangers, piling the stock into giant boxes and collecting the hangers up and boxing them away. Every season the Traid stores do a rotation and restock and Goodgym has been helping out for several years now.
The team at Shepherd’s Bush are always pleased to see us and within an hour we’ve usually powered through and cleared the store. Tonight was no different.

Two task Traid Tuesdays are the best, as you get to hang out with your friends not once, but twice!
Having cleared the racks at the Hammersmith store, five of us continued the evening of good deeds by repeating the job, this time in the Shepherds Bush shop.
With the staff at the store, we cleared the racks, boxed the fashion and packed up the hangers. There were also some musical bangers, or should I say hangers, on the radio, and everyone’s ears were delighted to be blessed with Lucy’s dulcet tones singing along.
We did a rail-y good job of emptying the store ready for its new delivery overnight, made even better with friends.
