Coventry Report written by Laura Denham
4 GoodGymers ran to help the Canal and River trust keep Coventry canals tidy and we welcomed back Andrew on his second group run with us.
We started at the normal spot, Priestley's Bridge (4) off the Leicester Causeway with our head torches shining bright! There was the usual suspects, take away boxes, cans and bottles but our strangest find was a poor little bag of bait looking very sad indeed - which we decided to leave rather than them going to waste.
With not much litter to be picked along the paths, we only managed to fill one bin bag between us. As we dropped the bin bag at the normal spot for collection we started to feel spots of rain, luckily it didn't get much heavier as we made our way back to base at CBGC.
I have returned to find a message to say that this evening was my 50th good deed and my much awaited black t-shirt is on its way, its only taken me 3 years!
Next week we will be back at Clothing Coventry so hope to see you there!

Andrew Hales has done their first good deed with GoodGym.
Andrew is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

10 Goodgymers returned to help Kairos WWT with the next part of their garden project.
It was great to see the progress that had been made in the garden since our last visit, including the very exciting summer house that is now in place!
This evening's task was another great workout starting with moving some heavy slabs out of the way, some of which will be used to put a new path along the side of the centre in the future.
Next we dug up a large area of sand and transfered this in a wheelbarrow into some large builders bags out of the way, making space for some better quality compost to go down in the future.
Whilst this was taking place, others in the group were attempting to move a shed into the space that had been made by the removal of the slabs but unfortunately this came to an abrupt halt as the shed was screwed to the ground. A task that will have to wait for another day when we have the right tools!
We finished the session with a fitness session running "the maze" whilst mixing it up with various exercises such as squats, lunges and press ups!
It was lovely to have double figures at our run this week and great to welcome Andy to his first ever Goodgym Group Run!
