12 GoodGymers tackled a 7.5k run down to Pimlico to deliver 350 leaflets for Open Age Charity.
Great to have you all along this evening!!
Unfortunately I couldn’t rustle up a Christmas task after much trying but we did have a task to warmup the Winter spirts of Westminster’s older population!!
Open Age are a charity which facilitates activities for the over 50’s , this week we were helping them promote their heavily subsidised Fitness class in the local sports centre.
A longer than normal run with not too many stops had us working hard as we navigated South to huge the Chuch Hill Estate. 3.75k in the bag and we had arrived. Splitting into small groups we took batches of leaflets and got delivering.
Flying around the estate, up and down the blocks stairs at super speed the 350 leaflets stood no chance!! All delivered across 12 blocks in 25 minutes of delivering excellence!!
With the job done we powered back to base with a Spring in our step adding a little more pace to up that heart rate nicely!
A stretch out and smile to finish a productive and and fun session!!
Next week we are off to One Big Family to make up he food donations to be served out to the homeless community!!
Remember the 19th will be our last run of the year and we will be doing a Mince Pie Run to Central London’s. Followed by a social! Be great to have you along.

21 Westminster GoodGymers ran 7k to One Big Family to sort out all the clothing donations from the summer months.
So I was very scared the size of task and the amazing surge in numbers of energetic GoodGymers were not going to marry up but I was very pleased to be proved totally wrong!!
A touristy 3.5k Run South to Victoria lead us to a hidden gem of a charity One Big Family Victoria. With a tiny team of volunteers masterfully helping Westminster’s Homeless with 2 evening meals a week as well as vital clothing and sanitary products.
With the hot food donations this evening already plentiful we didn’t need to do our sandwich production line and instead sorted through 3 sheds full of clothing donations!!
Kids, Women’s and Men’s clothing being speedily and expertly sorted into boxes ready for distribution to local homeless people in the coming weeks. Obviously with night time temperatures dropping this becomes even more critical!!
35 minutes of efficient excellence as we had completed the task perfectly. Easy to access, tidy and ordered boxes complete we zipped back to base with a Spring in our step grabbing a picture with a GG York runner enroute!
Thank you so much for coming along and really hope to see you all again next week when we start our river take over near Little Venice where we will be adopting a section of river to up keep!
Finally a huge thank you and good luck to Westminster GoodGym regular Kate who has been a great GoodGym Westminster Runner!! Probably coming to the most sessions over the last year and us now moving out of London to continue her adventures!!
Have a great week

10 brilliant GoodGymers ran 5k to the Oasis Community Garden to water and sweep our way to community gardening glory.
A last minute change of task this week!! With our patterned paint colour range not available at Rhythms of Life we had to think on our feet and visit the Oasis Community Garden for one last time this year before the garden is put to bed for the Winter.
A strong 3.5k run to get us going up to the outskirts of Regent’s Park then back down into the buzz of Tottenham Court Road. Where we got stuck straight into the final watering and clear up task of 2018 in the Oasis Community Garden.
With the weather so dry the garden was very pleased to see us and the flowers, herbs, vegetables and plants were certainly very thirsty!!
Getting a solid rhythm of watering pouring out 75 watering cans in 30 productive minutes!
Getting the garden tidy was our other goal and with a range of brushes we swept and cleared all the leafs, debris away so the garden was looking beautiful!
With a little time in hand we ran over to Bedford square and smashed 20 minutes of leg sapping lower body strength developing circuits!! Done seriously strong performances on show, top work!!!
A shorter but very windy 1.5k run back to base rounded off a top session!!
See you next week when we will be heading g over to St Andrews Youth Club to help them out!
Smooth Running
