On a night of celebrations, Goodgym came together to litter pick and celebrate some milestones.
Serious kudos to Emma and Sam for hitting the 50 good deeds! Not to be sneezed at even in this weather. However Pauline, with her 150 good deeds, is surely Goodgym royalty now! Alright Queen!!
We checked out each red light on our way out of town and soon got some momentum up the hill to Breck Road. Running past our target, we went down to Kitty's Launderette to meet Rachael of Creative Spaces. Quickly armed with bags and pickers, we returned to the park whilst watching an impressive fireworks display!
With several bags filled and new friends from the park wholeheartedly endorsing our good work, we retreated to bring some sparkle to our evening despite the rain.
Off we went on our return leg, spotting the green Radio City Tower and getting the rub of the green with the traffic lights on the way home.
Kudos to Becky B for backmarking and well done everyone, we got 8k in 🙂

18 awesome runners beat the dark and cold to help out at a secret garden in south Liverpool.
Our first run since the clocks have changed and beyond seasonable doubt, Autumn is here. Last time we visited the Quaker Burial Ground (aka Arundel Avenue Community Garden) was on the most beautiful late spring evening. This time it was pitch black. But GoodGym stops for no one. We wrapped up, we put our head torches on and we clocked up good deeds.
The team kept a good pace over 3km and soon we arrived at the garden. The task was a simple but important one. Rake up all of the leaves and wheelbarrow them round to the compost heap. Everyone got stuck in and soon enough, lit by our lamps, we could see the area had been transformed.
This week's shout out goes to Baptiste and Molly, who are quickly becoming regulars and part of the GG fam. The Autumn isn't generally the best time to join GoodGym but they are beating the bad weather and happily getting fit while doing good with us - hooray!
Running a different return route, we played a quick game of follow the leader through Crown St park, working different areas of the body and getting our hearts pumping. Fantastic work once again team - well done!
Next week I'm leaving you in the very capable hands of Run Leader John C. and you'll be doing a much needed litter pick in North Liverpool. Support John and sign-up here.

15 runners, constant drizzle, a dark task and 5km of running; just another Autumn night at GoodGym Liverpool!
It looks like we're set to have the soggiest Autumn ever, yet a little damp weather doesn't stop the mighty GoodGym! The 15 strong team took the 2.5km run to Everton Park brow in their stride and were greeted with the last moments of dusk and a brilliant pink sky over the city.
Welcomed by John from Friends of Everton Park, he explained that his plan had been for us to count the street lights that were out. But sadly, it was actually easier to count the few that were still on. Divided into four fab teams, the crew headed off across the park, noting the good light numbers as they went.
In the lighter months, we spend every sixth week at Everton Park and to mark the end of the summer, this was part one of a double whammy to say farewell. Next week, we'll return with a slightly different task and the hope of better weather.
A big shout out and welcome to newbie Josh who did a fab job and easily kept pace. And welcome back to Basma, who has been away traveling for six weeks; so good to see you!
The plan had been for a steps and hills fitness session but the inclement weather had made it too slippery. Instead, we utilised a basketball court for a quite fartlek session before making the return run.
A big well done to everyone. Don't forget to send me the numbers for the lights and to bring your head torches again next week :)
P.S. Kudos to Tim for the run report pun.

A record-breaking 28 runners joined GoodGym Liverpool for some good-deeding in the sunshine at the Pagoda Centre.
An enormous group of runners ran the short distance (all down hill on the way there ;)) to a project we hadn't worked with before. Pagoda is the city's Chinese cultural and youth centre and home to the famous Chinese Youth Orchestra. Sadly, it is massively under-resourced and under-funded. Enter GoodGym, ready to offer our unique brand of people power to help out this brilliant project.
We split into 2 teams - indoors and outdoors. The indoors team did a cracking job of sweeping and mopping the centre's floors and washing down doors. Meanwhile, outside, there were some mega weeds to hack down, overhanging branches to clip back and general tidying and clearing around the centre's exterior.
This week we were made up to welcome a fantastic FIVE newbies. Great work Becki, Lola, Gabriel, Joanna and Sandy!
It was also wonderful to welcome back Karen, as well as Lyn and Jan - it's been too long x
As we finished up the task, the centre manager told us that they'd been wanting to tackle the mega weeds for 3 years. GoodGym ran in a tackled the job in half an hour. And we had fun doing it too. That's the power of GoodGym :)
Since the run to and from the task was pretty short this week, I made sure the team got sweaty at the fitness session and took them to cathedral gardens for some cheeky hills training. Everyone was panting but smiling by the end, so I'd say that was a job well done.
You were such an impressive bunch tonight, getting stuck in wherever you saw an opportunity to help. Nice one!
Want to do it all again next week? Make the most of your Bank Holiday Monday - find out more here.
