Thursday 6:15/ 6:30pm is GoodGym Windsor Night! ๐๐โโ๏ธ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
Tonights community mission we were back at one of our regular task venues Age Concern, The Spencer Denney Centre.
Our task was leafleting to raise awareness of the centre and fundraising so the GG postie trio Caroline , Bekah and Mandy got walking along the Clewer Hill Road, Rycroft, Duncroft and Perrycroft.
The rain showers at first made us sad ๐คฃ but it speeded us up ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ and we had to hug ourselves to protect the leaflets from getting wet ๐ฆ and soggy.
But the beautiful sky, sunset ๐ and rainbow ๐ made us happy ๐ to be out and about.
Lots of chats about our days, family etc as we went along.
We had no leaflets left so we made our way back to the centre, did the Windsor curtsy and bow then made our way home.
Thank you Caroline and Bekah for your help and braving the weather. ๐ฎ ๐๐๐ผโโ๏ธ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ฆ๏ธ๐๐ป

Thursday 6:15/ 6:30pm is GoodGym Windsor Night! ๐๐โโ๏ธ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
Tonights community mission was for a bit different and the weather didnโt disappoint!
We were at The Pirate Park doing litter picking as our primary task but with some GoodGym awareness thrown in giving out leaflets and a social game of rounders and gathering of to celebrate our achievements so far in Windsor.
We would have loved to have had more of you there but we do appreciate everyoneโs help since Jan and dedication to Windsorโs good causes to huge ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป to you all!
Thank you also today to Pippa for her very first GoodGym session. ๐๐ป๐
ANDโฆ.. Sheila for her 703rd task ! ๐ฅณ๐๐พ๐๐ป
We all met at The Pirate Park Caroline, Marilyn, Bekah, Jen, Sara, Mandy, Devon, Sheila and Pippa swept the park with litter pickers on our way to the far side where we were to play rounders.
We handed out some GoodGym Windsor leaflets to some runners and walkers in the park.
We set out the nibbles from The Binoy and got some music on. We decided on our rounders teams (Team Bhajis and Team Samosa) and set up the game. Weโll be honest it wasnโt very organised or indeed very fair ๐ฌ but we all had a go and we all tried our best.
Pippa did a bit more litter picking and Devon and Mandy and Marilyn had a run around the field.
The others started on the Indian nibbles and cakes and eventually we all regrouped for a catch up.
Thank you all for coming ๐๐โโ๏ธ you are all litter-ally the best!

Windsor and Maidenhead Report written by Windsor and Maidenhead runner
Aome of Goodgymers met at the school and some walked from the meeting point. It was a sunny afternoon; great for walking and enjoying summer weather. She school was located on lovely grounds with a forest on the side and it had lots of green area.
We had several jobs to choose from - painting gates, painting outside playroom sets, clearing brambles or pruning bushes around the play area the wood. My first impression was that it looked like a jungle for children - a great place for kids to get mucky and enjoy outdoors.
A herd of cows came to visit us from the woods area. It turned out they had the right to roam all that area. We saw many this summer's calves and cows. They all looked at us as investigating who we were. We did the same in reverse. Then we got back to out tasks - we better got mooo-ving!
It seemed like we had managed to complete quite a lot in no time at all! That colour "Medium Oak" looked so good on the gates and furniture sets.
We returned across the meadow back to the school. The teacher had prepared some juices, water and biscuits for us, which was a lovely touch. We managed to do the flag quiz while enjoying snacks and drinks.
We left the task with a good feeling that we had helped to improve the spacious outdoor area. And we made plans to attend the same session in September. Happy summer day!

Tonight we were back helping St Edwards Catholic First School develop their new forest garden.
Special congratulations to Bekah for her 10th good deed and to Adam for his 40th! ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐๐ป๐๐ผโโ๏ธ
We all had our own reasons to meet at the task tonight which was a community mission.
Our England ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ โฝ๏ธ squad tonight was Jen, Marilyn, Sue, Bekah, Mandy and Caroline and Adam was an honoury member ๐คฃ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ (we wonโt tell Wales ๐คซ).
We followed our previous video instructions from the task owner and carried on from where we left off last session.
Jen took to the naughty corner to work on a dead climbing plant.
Adam and Bekah were on weeds and clearing.
Caroline wasted no time digging and planting and edging.
Sue and Marilyn weeded (mainly as they know what are plants and what are weeds) We moved pallets and stacked them safety.
Mandy took photos and did a bit of this and that. To help others and finding things that would fill the hole left from the removed bath. It does look like we have buried someone. Bekah and Marilyn even danced on it ๐คฃ I did count us all in and out ๐คฃ although we may have buried Mandyโs trowel!
So to sum up we did the weeding , clearing, sweeping, removing debris, litter etc to clear the area. We also did some watering of the plants but there was a hole in our bucket.. there a song about that!
Bekah was on camera duty while we played our end of session game. Seeing at itโs was ladies day at Ascot and England playing football tonight the game was a combination.
It involved wearing a silly England wig, walking like a posh lady ๐with a book ๐on your head, galloping like a horse ๐ (well we are GGs after all), dribbling the ball like a footballerโฝ๏ธ and waving the England flag ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ
The final seconds were Caroline and Mandy neck and neck but Team Marilyn, Sue and Mandy won! You can see by the photos and Bekahโs video it was a bit mad but to everyoneโs relief not a burpee in sight ๐คฃ
Thank you all so much for coming, missing the football game and dodging the Royal Ascot traffic. ๐๐ป๐๐๐ป๐๐ผโโ๏ธ

Thursday 6:15pm is GoodGym Windsor Night! ๐๐โโ๏ธ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
Tonight we were back helping Age Concern at The Spencer Denney Centre painting the walls in the lobby and doing a bit in the garden.
Who stole summer? Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie ๐ถ us some sunshine please! Itโs was a grim day and rain was due so we opted in our group chat vote for painting indoors.
We all met at the centre tonight (some walked or by car)and while waiting for everyone to join we played with the baseball in a circle not sure what the name of the game ๐ถ was. Still it kept us entertained.
Task owner Rachel had the brushes and paint at the ready and showed us what needed doing.
Special welcome to Nic for her first Windsor ๐Thursday evening session ๐๐ป and Didem has now completed 10 good deeds with today being her 11th so well done Didem. ๐คฉ
The crew tonight were Helen, Marilyn, Natalia, Jen, Sue, Nic, Caroline , Didem and Mandy.
We cleared the lobby area, got set up with dust cloths, chose our preferred brushes and a section of wall.
ABBA was Didemโs choice of tunes tonight although we did seem to get take a chance on me ๐ถ on repeat ๐คฃ but thank you for the music ๐ถ anyway!
Sue and Marilyn decided to be brave and did some garden tidying instead of painting and cleaned the garden furniture in case the sun does ever decide to show itself ๐๐ป and the guests can sit outside.
The others literally finished up all the paint suppliesโฆ Mumma Mia ๐ถ ! So then one buy one after tidying up and washing brushes in the Waterloo ๐ถ we all ended up in the garden anyway โฆ so much for the vote ๐คฃ still it wasnโt too bad. Most of the rain was coming off the leaves of the tree in the wind.
Not letting anyone go early Mandy put on a quick 10 min Joe Wicks fitness video and we had a go at what we could without a mat.
Then it was time to do our group photoโฆ sorry I missed Helen in this ๐ฅฒ then did our Windsor curtsy and say our goodbyes.
Thank you all so much for coming lovely to see you all and some new faces these last couple of weeks ๐
