Surrounded by trees Mrs C's garden had a thick carpet of very pretty, but very slippery leaves. Well equipped with brush, shovel and trug, I set about my goal of filling the wheelie bin with those leaves! Mission accomplished, I have time to prune a few roses and straighten up some weed suppressing fabric in a rose bed.

Mrs C is the main carer for her husband, she cannot afford to pay for a gardener. She would be very grateful as it would be one less task for her.

Cutting turf is a tough task, but that was GoodGym Huddersfield's job for Saturday morning. We were helping Golcar Environment Group remove a grassy area in the village park in order to create a more interesting flower bed area.
So spades in hand, Kati Law, Louise Galvin, Heather Wilshaw Jones, Catherine Gormley and SallyAnn Maish set about cutting whilst I ran up and down with the wheelbarrow removing and stacking the sods at the opposite end of the park.
Two hours later, much effort expended, a few biscuits eaten and plenty of chatting done, we had completely removed all the turf from the designated area. There is however still more digging to be done, and now we have proved ourselves as excellent turf cutters GoodGym will be returning to Golcar again in the coming weeks to continue cutting.
Thanks to everyone for your help this morning, another great GoodGym task completed.

It was my 100th GoodGym task tonight, a fact not missed by Kati Law who ensured I wore the fairy wings as is traditional for a 100th task in Huddersfield. Along with Kati and I, Ben Godfrey, Tom Elcock, Jackie Cork and Catherine Gormley managed to shift another stack of flyers promoting Kirkwood's Christmas Tree Recycling Scheme. Well done folks another good job done!

Golcar's Ginnel No.2 had a makeover this morning courtesy of GoodGym. Some decidedly wet conditions didn't stop Kati Law, Louise Galvin, Zena Whalley, Catherine Gormley and David Bilton from getting busy with the spades, secateurs and brooms to remove weeds and vegetation from the narrow pathway.
Thanks to Matt Ellis from Golcar Enviroment Group for providing the task, we'll be back to clear some more ginnels next year when hopefully the weather will be a bit better.
Thanks also to David Bilton for today's report title!
