Oxford Report written by Anwen Greenaway
We divided between two tasks last night, but both had the same theme - making sure people can access food whatever their personal circumstances.
5 GoodGymers helped serve and clear up at Oxford Homeless Project's evening meal.
This was Oxford Homeless Project's first community meal in over 3 years, and with a switch from Monday lunch to Wednesday evening it was hard to know whether the word would get out quickly. But it did, and the atmosphere was lovely, the food delicious and both volunteers and guests had a fun and friendly evening.
11 GoodGymers pounded the streets to deliver leaflets recruiting volunteer delivery drivers for the Oxford Mutual Aid food bank.
The rest of our lovely team set off along the streets of Cowley to deliver hundreds of leaflets for our pals at Oxford Mutual Aid Food bank. Streets were pounded, flyers delivered, and we got judgey about letter flaps again.
Lovely to have you along to GoodGym Oxford Cat.

On Saturday 80 people assembled at London Grown and worked for an hour and a half helping to help create London's biggest community growing space.
GoodGym veterans and first timers alike braved the cold on a beautifully clear, crisp Saturday morning to help The London Grown Workers' Co-operative work on 7 acres of derelict land with the hope of transforming the area into London's largest community growing space. Once ready the site will be used to grow organic vegetables and fruit for the local people to buy at affordable prices and to show people how to grow local affordable food - if you're interested, they will be teaching every Monday from March 2017.
A half way fitness session and a delicious refuel from Moju Drinks and we were ready to get back to work to complete the task. We even did a bit of lung capacity training by singing happy birthday to Phil - hope you had a great day Phil.
The London Grown Workers' Co-operative were really pleased with the turnout and work accomplished in the time we were there.
Big thanks to Team London and Haringey Council for supporting GoodGym and making events like these possible.

Meanwhile in Bestminster 12 brave souls headed half a click south by south west to the Salvation Army strong hold in Regents hall on Princess street. Why? To help sort through clothing and help distribute to rough sleepers who were coming in to be grab some food at the soup kitchen before heading off to there accommodation.
We were joined by a few newbies so we gave them the fulllllllllll in depth briefing on the goodness that Is goodgym and why what we do is so important. A few announcements about Christmas drinks, races and missions and we were off.
Obviously we took the long way to get there arriving not long after we left lol, we were welcomed by the lovely staff at SA and given a breakdown of what would happen as well as the dos and do nots.
We split into 2 teams, 1 team downstairs sorting clothes into size order and taking orders from upstairs.
The other team upstairs was classed as FRONT OF HOUSE lol. Meeting and greeting those that came in then asking what clothes they needed. All info was jotted down and everyone downstairs prepared socks, jackets, tees, trousers, sleeping bags, shoes and anything else they needed.
We did this for an hour, made new friends and finally said our goodbyes.
We left, had a gentle warm up then began some cheeky lil sprint relays to finish the session on a high.... thanks for coming ;-)
