I returned to Ms E’s garden for a final hour to tackle the remaining weeds, rake up fallen branches & leaves, and prepare for autumn. Hoping that Ms E asks Red Cross/GoodGym for help in the spring as it would be lovely to help plant some spring blooms!

I went to Ms E’s garden last year so it was lovely to go back and help again. The task was straightforward: tidy everything. So lots of trimming, cutting, weeding and sweeping. I did what I could in the hour & a half. One more session and Ms E will be ready for autumn 🍂

This was a simple task with a big scope - clear everything.
90 minutes isn't long, but it was long enough to discover that nettles will string through anything; one garden bag wasn't enough for the mound of cuttings; and that there was a patio hidden in the back corner of Ms R's garden.
Hopefully, the reduction in overgrowth will help give her a bit more piece of mind.

Mrs R has fibromyalgia and mobility issues. She also has a respiratory disease and is wheelchair dependent and being able to have a tidy garden to look out into would be a real tonic to her state of mind

Lindy and I met in Ms R’s garden on a warm & sunny Saturday. Lindy was back for a second visit - this time to pull up weeds from the patio, path & lawn. We were done in just one hour, but Ms R would not let us leave without insisting that we each take an entire freshly baked banana loaf that she had just made for us! 🌱🌿 👩🏼🌾 🍌🍰

On this beautiful sunny morning it was great to get out and help one of the local residents who's garden has been getting her down following surgery.
Diane initially revved up the mower and tackled the overgrown lawn and weeds whilst Jo utilised the step ladder to try and prune back some of the higher overgrowth.
With four metre high thorn bushes, this was no easy task, but we banded together, bore the scratches and managed to make a significant difference (and a shed height stack of trimmings).

Ms R has had major surgery so cannot leave her home. She looks out into her garden and is finding it very depressing in its current state. She would like it tidied up so to improve its current look.
