A perfect end to a beautiful springlike day in Bath and a tapering 3k run for 17 tip top athletic team to Manvers baptist church to
white wash
Some walls in the basement for our tip top host Pete.
A huge shout out to Jess and Ed joining us for their first Goodgym run tonight and they did a great job at painting ( well done Ed and Jess!!) Rosie kindly volunteered to do back marking this evening and headcount almost went without a hitch during warm up.
A short run tonight as most of team Goodgym Bath will be taking part in Bath Half Marathon at the weekend, so
Good Luck to everyone running on Sunday
A little bit of speed work on the way to our task destination with a few squats thrown in. We arrived in good time and Pete was ready to get the troops organised with rollers at the ready and a few brushes for cutting in around the woodwork. We had a lesson today on Terrazzo flooring from Pete and Steph, always something to learn in life at Goodgym https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrazzo
Working for a solid 40 minutes to include some washing of implements at the end, I think Joe took top prize for most paint applied to the walls and Lydia to the most paint applied to the Terrazzo flooring which was laid in 1900 ( not trying to make her feel guilty or anything) Ed took to the ladder and all the tall jobs and I have to say did a sterling job.
Time for a group photo before leaving with a
Bit of Dabbing
Going on, even Pete was getting into the groove.
He promised to have us back next year, who is he kidding!! See you sooner than you think.
Super short spurt back to base for a stretch out and chat about tonight's Pun,thanks Joe for another Tip Top Pun.
Remember your documents next week for checking and we also have a Saturday run this week with the promise of doughnuts to lure you in at Odd Down
Thanks you super awesome bunch for another amazing evening in Goodgym company.

On Saturday 80 people assembled at London Grown and worked for an hour and a half helping to help create London's biggest community growing space.
GoodGym veterans and first timers alike braved the cold on a beautifully clear, crisp Saturday morning to help The London Grown Workers' Co-operative work on 7 acres of derelict land with the hope of transforming the area into London's largest community growing space. Once ready the site will be used to grow organic vegetables and fruit for the local people to buy at affordable prices and to show people how to grow local affordable food - if you're interested, they will be teaching every Monday from March 2017.
A half way fitness session and a delicious refuel from Moju Drinks and we were ready to get back to work to complete the task. We even did a bit of lung capacity training by singing happy birthday to Phil - hope you had a great day Phil.
The London Grown Workers' Co-operative were really pleased with the turnout and work accomplished in the time we were there.
Big thanks to Team London and Haringey Council for supporting GoodGym and making events like these possible.

It may be getting dark but we had 15 fabulous Goodgym runners lighting up the streets of Bath tonight for our #runandtalk starter session for mental health awareness day and the task destination was Royal Victoria Park play area and skate park, the task was to rake and bag up as many leaves as possible.
Two super new guys tonight so a warm welcome to Jonathan and Kieron... welcome!!
A lot of chatting tonight during warm up especially from the TERRIBLE TWINS ( you know who you are) but great to hear so much banter even though It meant I had to shout a bit louder, it's all good therapy. The headcount went smoothly.
The group swept through the city centre with the lovely Ellen backmarking tonight . A quick stop off in Kingsmead square for some upper body work before the final straight along to the park where Lucy and Steve were waiting to join us after their run from the other direction.
It took a bit of organising to get the groups of three into position along the perimeter railings armed with rakes and bags with the aim to fill as many black bags as possible in 30 minutes. In total we FILLED 18 BAGS although we lost count of the winning teams total, so we'll have to call it a draw.
A last minute dash over to the skate park for some rich pickings from the conker tree before a rather dark group photo was order of the evening. There was 5 minutes of playtime at their own risk, it's all good exercise after all, before we bid farewell to Jonathan, Steve,Lucy and Ellen who were running off in the other direction.
Just enough time left with Pascale backmarking to #runandtalk all the way back to base for a stretch out and a few announcements Rosie and Emily have earned their Black T shirts with 50 good deeds and well done! to Pascale who ran the York marathon at the weekend.
A reminder please that we have 6 isolated older people waiting to be coaches, so if your DBS checked and done your coach runner training get in touch with Emily@goodgym.org and she'll get things rolling .
Don't forget to sign for our Birthday Party ... whoop!! https://www.goodgym.org/parties/goodgym-bath-s-1st-birthday
Thank you again everyone... Amazing as always!!

As Mr Kipling would say AN ECCEEDINGLY GOOD task and scenic 8k run today for A Dirty Dozen at GoodgymBath, picking apples for Dry Arch growers in Bathampton.
Great to have our regular Bristol crew over and the lovely Chloe on her first Bath run. Nice to see Ellen after a long summer break from university. We also had two extra helpers on site with Holly and Kieran doing an appletasktic job.
No need for Matt to warm up today as he'd already ran to us from Bristol, so while he enjoyed a well earned clementine the rest of us got to it with headcount and warm up.
A flat run out today along the canal to Bathampton with just a little extra exercise routine added before passing The George (we didn't go in) and up to the orchard where our hosts were waiting with various apple picking devices.
Tim gave us a demonstration on picking apples and Matt volunteered to grade the apples accordingly for storage, same day pressing and compost only.
It was great to see the different groups working using very different techniques from hand picking, tool picking device, ladders and ropes. In fact one team with Sir Paul shaking a limb actually managed to catch ONE Apple in the net :-)
Goodgym worked hard for two hours today but it was noted by Steph that one or two had gone AWOL for a while with Mim confessing that some of the party had tea cake and biscuits ... ha hum!! and a certain person was reported to be enjoying seconds by a lovely older lady from Dry arch... (matt caught red handed or was it empty basket'd) coconut cake was mentioned.
We smashed our target of 50 crates and managed 57 in total...BOOM!!
The clock struck One, the tools went down, we carried our crates across to the Apple press where Chopping and pressing commenced so that we could enjoy some fresh as it comes juice with a rather delightful Hog Roast.. Yum!!! Not sure how Cosmo got an extra portion though.
Time to say Goodbye and JOG GINGERLY back for a well deserved stretch after a long morning hard at it.
Thanks Mary for the pun and Rosie for backmarking today. Emily for saying that giving me the Apple picking device was a bad move (not sure what she means) Thank you everyone for making today an absolutely brilliant day filled with laughter, you are all amazing and a pleasure to spend time with ... cheers!!

So... the description of this group run clearly stated there would be "cake and drinks available mid-morning". So first of all "drinks" is clearly not singular... secondly I only went for refreshments post midday (after waiting very patiently), thirdly what sort of birthday party doesn't have cake??!
