LeafletGym!

Birmingham Report written by Miriam

We had a lovely time delivering leaflets to support a community event in Stirchley. Our wonderful Amy is now on the comittee for Stirchley Community Market, volunteering her time to organise the market. It is on the 7th December and you can sign up to volunteer!

Special well done to Eve and Liam who ran around 5k to get to the task!

We did several streets, Amy and Chris did loads of businesses too. Afterwards we all went to the pub for well deserved drinks!

Eve had plenty of bottle!!

Birmingham Report written by Jonny Carter

On a rather mild October night it was great to welcome Rob to GoodGym for the first time. Rob was one of the walkers, so we decided to all walk together the 1.2k to the canal to complete our litter pick.

Before we had hardly started the litter pick Eve found her green drinks bottle she'd lost when cycling along the cobbles on the canal at the weekend! As you can see she was pretty pleased to find it!

That was a great start to the task. We followed this up by clearing plenty of litter along the walls of the canal.

Once done, Rob walked back to catch his bus, whilst Eve, James and Jonny did a 4k run along the canal, through Millenium Point and up the hills back through the city centre.,

LeafletGym!

Birmingham Report written by Miriam

Tonight Morwennna, Eve and I met up for another delivery of Change Kitchen leaflets! We ran to Kings Heath and were able to deliver Heathfield Road, Melton Road and Institute Road.

We then went for a run through Highbury Park, appreciating the still light evenings, and had a good natter on the way back to base. 5K run, plenty of leaflets delivered, and time for a drink in the pub afterwards - a successful night in my eyes! Well done everyone, it was a fab night.

Compost Heaps of Fun!

Birmingham Report written by Jonny Carter

Tonight we were back at the Friends of the Earth.

We welcomed Marcella to GoodGym for the first time, it was great to have you with us :)

Morwenna, Eve, Jonny and James ran 2k to the task and met our walking group of Miriam, Marcella and Gabriel.

As ever we were also greeted by Marcel the dog, generally an ever present at the Friends of the Earth tasks.

We got to work bagging up cans to be recycled, composting and inside Miriam, Marcella and Gabriel did some paper shredding and cleaning some buckets.

Eve and James stirred in some shredded paper into the compost certainly a 'good good gym workout' see what I did there?!

Once done we had a quick picture with Marcel the dog and headed on our way.
