Fraser Mashiter done 50 good deeds and got their black t-shirt
The next time you see Fraser, they might be wearing black instead of red. They've completed 50 good deeds with GoodGym and have earnt their black t-shirt. Give them a nod when you next see them.

...get a marshalling spot in the shade. Well, that was purely by luck, but I was very grateful for it! This morning's Eaton Junior Park Run attracted a committed set of young runners, who were willing to pound the pathways despite the heat. They all did extremely well bearing in mind the temperature and not being able to stay in the shade like me!

Another lovely Sunday for a Junior ParkRun, with 113 youngsters running the Eaton Park course. Sunshine and a light breeze made for ideal conditions.

...but instead of Michael Corleone trying and failing to become a legitimate businessman in The Godfather Part III, this was me having just finished a teaching placement elsewhere in Norfolk, only for several of my former students to take part in today's Eaton Park Junior Park Run and hang about afterwards to say hello. That got a big smile out of me, and it was a pleasure to see plenty of today's runners beaming as they went around the course. The weather was lovely, plenty of sun but with a light breeze keeping everyone cool. I loved having my favourite marshalling spot for the second time in a row: the last one before runners take the next turn towards the finish funnel, so I get to give plenty of encouragement to make a final push to the end.

...was my favourite part of today's Junior ParkRun at Eaton Park. One young runner was in a full-body and very muscle-bound Batman costume, while the fellow runner next to them had a T-Rex on their top. The weather was smashing and unlike last week, the first aid kit wasn't needed, which was definitely a bonus!

Another Eaton Park Junior ParkRun, with a health turn out of 125 runners. Early drama when one of the younger runners took a tumble and needed plasters for a cut knee and hand. Having helped with that, I then sprinted back to the finish line to do my timekeeping with another volunteer. All went smoothly until one runner, a few minutes after having gone through the finish funnel, decided to do so again, with one of us disregarding him and the other counting it as a new finish time - cue our timings going out of sync! The youngster then decided to leave the way he'd came, causing a temporary pile up of runners trying to cross the finish line. High drama, by the standards of this wholesome kids' events :-)

It wasn't an auspicious start to a Junior ParkRun morning when the rain started just as I was getting ready to leave... The heavens really opened a little later on in the day, but for the window of time we needed for the young runners to complete the course, better weather won through. Sorry rain clouds, our Junior ParkRunners were just too fast to get caught out by you today.

We had beautiful weather for today's run, with 115 youngsters in attendance. I took on a new role today, leading the warm up, which began with us all picking up our invisible hula hoops for hip circles. Lots of determined faces and plenty of smiling ones too, as the kids made their way around the course.
