Greenwich Report written by Sarah M
7 goodgym-ers met in central Woolwich on a festively chilly November evening. After a warm up & ice-breaker discussing recent movie dates, we made our way uphill to one of our favourite haunts, Dee's Childcare Nursery.
Our past tasks have included various garden projects such as putting together a tyre slide which we were happy to see is still in use.
Tonight's task was originally planned to involve putting up outdoor decorations for the childrens' Christmas party, however this was scuppered by squirrels having their own party and chewing through the lights' wires last year 🐿
So we bounced to plan B, partly dismantling a trampoline to turn it into a stage for the party. Helpfully there were plenty of crates and planks of wood around for building purposes, so we stacked and balanced and added some screws for stability. Task completed, we tested the stage with a group photo, then it was on with the show (well, a downhill run then heading home).
Thanks all & see you at the next goodgym mission! On sunday we're gardening at Mycenae and next wednesday we're painting the staff room at Brooklands Primary School.

The sun came out to greet the GoodGymers as we met at the fittingly named Assembly by the Woolwich riverside. Seven of us picked up our Sunday task to clean up a section of the Thames Path.
A very warm welcome to Vicky who is a regular clean-up champion for the area, joining the Greenwich gang for the first time, and even ran back to get us more litter picks and bin bags.
As we made our way down the Thames Path, no piece of rubbish could escape our youngest member Arthur's keen eye, as he scooted up and down the path while the rest of us tried to keep up!
Sweeping our way to a little clearing which the tide finds a convenient dumping ground, our very own GoodGym Barbie Ceci found a litter Barbie too, on her second Good Deed for the day. After making a good dent in the neverending mountain of litter, we retired to the cosy Woolwich Works for coffee, muffins and a natter.
Mission accomplished, with a pledge to do more, reminding ourselves that every little counts!
Great work everyone and see you at the next task!
On Wednesday we're at Dee's Childcare to put up Christmas lights and next Sunday we're back at Mycenae for some gardening and coffee 😁

Lewisham Report written by Julian Osman
Saturday was community day at St Mary's church in Lewisham, a perennial Good Gym favourite. 3 hardy runners turned up, despite predictions of filthy weather, ready to help Sue and the team out with getting the churchyard ready for winter and the hope of spring.
The tasks were simple, get of the wild alliums and alkanet and plant bulbs, both more appropriate alliums and tulips. Despite stepping on many of the bulbs we were to plant, we'd soon cleared a vast space and got the bulbs in.
And St Mary's are one of our most generous hosts and afterward we were rewarded with some of Joy's lovely spicy squash and coconut soup, which warmed us all up again after an hour and a half in the cold.
