This week we were asked by Maz Brown of Brown books, Luton's community book shop, to take to the streets and deliver flyers advertising the upcoming Author Fest and half term events at the second-hand book shop.

It was only a short run to collect the leaflets from the pub, but we didn't hang about there, we kept going and delivered hundreds of flyers all over high town, with a short break in Peoples Park for a quick game of 'grab the cones'.

it was back to the pub with the few leftover flyers for a quick drink to refresh and round off the night.

This week's group run took us from the town centre, along the busway to Kingsway Recreation ground and the 61 Football Club. Club secretary Richard was waiting there to issue the evenings tasks:

• taking down the plastic ceiling light panels and giving them a scrub down. They'd got a bit grubby and stained from old roof leaks.
• clearing out the storage unit, vaccuming and reorganising all the bits nicely back inside.
• painting the entrance lobby the club's baby blue colour.

We got to work straight away having completed completed the 3.5k run there, did a great job of all the tasks and got to enjoy a selection of fun-sized chocolate and orange squash generously provided by Richard to refuel us before the return back back into town.

Our first task today was to peel a mountain of veg. There were carrots galore which we had to peel and chop and 3 sacks of potatoes. The team had a lot of chatter while we worked and we hope we may have found a new recruit for GoodGym too.

There was a good turn out from GoodGym to join the People's Park Litter Pick this morning, and despite the recent good weather the park wasn't too bad for litter. With the sun shining through the clouds, it was a lovely way to spend an hour so at the start of the weekend. With such a big group it was easy to get the park cleaned up, and by pairing up we were able to sort the litter from recyclables. We are always on the look out for unusual items, and GoodGymer Petros was pleased to find a petrol strimmer that had been discarded under one of the trees.
Well done team, we left the park looking prim (or strim) and proper, and clear of "party balloons" and sharps, tidy and safe for families to relax in over the weekend.

A pun‑stoppable GoodGym Luton crew took on Old Bedford Road tonight, splitting into a speedy running team and a steady walking team to deliver road‑closure notices for Love Luton RunFest. The runners shot off like a first‑class delivery service, racing all the way to the far end before working backwards, while the walkers address‑ed the route from the town centre upwards. House by house, door by door, we letter‑ally posted notices 8n a stamp‑ede, creating a perfect meet‑in‑the‑middle moment where the two teams collided in postal‑union. Royal Mail would be mail‑ancholy they didn’t have speedy mailers like us. A proper GoodGym delivery that proved once again: when Luton needs its notices dropped, we always go the extra mail.

We were so quick we even had time to slip off to the pub for a celebratory drink on a job well done!
