A Few Goodgym Members came together to help support cycling and the Cycle Lane support day at East Finchley. We also looked to do a little litter picking in Gleblands, an open space behind the Lido leisure centre in Barnet. We gathered at the Coffee bank (cafe) where we robbed them of some delicious cake and coffee. Thank you Sandra for her discount on food and drink for all cyclist that braved the rain on the 19th. ( also to the Phoenix cinema , the old white Lion and Cherry tree cafe sorry we didn’t make it to you) We cycled to Gleblands and started litter picking in pairs. (Welcome to Charlotte on her first community mission) So much litter! In particular the plastic McDonald’s sauce containers a nightmare to pick up! After about 40 minutes we headed back down the cycle lane for a social at the Bald faced stag. Thanks to Louise (manager) for her generous support. Great food and company. Thanks for coming and doing some good!

A few Goodgym members came together for a starter run session, to explore local green spaces, where Goodgym has helped in Finchley. We started off in Stephens house and Gardens using it’s outside gym. This included monkey bars, pull-up and parallel bars. Check out the photos - its also a great park to do some undulating running laps. We then ran through some sidestreets into Hampstead Garden suburb, through two small woods to get to Mutton Brook and the site for the new Tiny Forest. ( planting on the 24th of February if you’re free) We then headed back to Stephen’s house and Gardens for some refreshments. well done all. shout out for Kenan and Paul

Kenan earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Kenan completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Kenan was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Fourteen magnificent GoodGym members came together in HighGate Woods to help the Ranger with Forest fencing. It was a lovely crisp winters morning as we gathered to listen to Cindy explain what we were doing. Quite simply we were repairing forest fences to protect the bluebells for the spring. We set to work and Cindy seemed very impressed at how quickly we got The job done so we had time for a tour of the forest. This included information on the history, forest management, and wildlife. thank you Cindy! Hope you enjoyed the session and don’t forget to give a cheer to the people you worked with on the GoodGym website. in particular give your support and a cheer to Henna Dorota on their first community mission.
Some of us went for a coffee others went on to another community mission in Crouch end! Well done all!
We gather again on Tuesday evening at the phoenix cinema 7 pm to help A forest school one kilometre away.
Thanks for coming and making a difference in your local Community.

A few Goodgym members came together to assist the Gardner at Stephens house and gardens. This is a charity park the benefits greatly from volunteers. Most of us gathered at the Phoenix cinema and ran the 3 km to meet Josh the Gardner at the house. We also met up with Simone who had chosen to walk. We then set to work raking the leaves from the main lawn in front of the house and bagging for transport. It was a surprisingly good workout using the rake and grabbers. We then ran back to the Phoenix listening to some of the latest musical hits.( maybe not the latest ! ). A great way to get fit and do a little good for the community.
