New Brooms please
A great morning task revisiting Mousehold Heath to cut down some broom off the slopes near the Britannia Road car park.
It’s important for some areas of the heath to have clear grassland for wildlife and to maintain the stunning views of the city the area offers.
12 GoodGymer's got through a lot of broom and deposited the cuttings further down the hill which will provide a habitat for other wildlife too.
A big welcome to Aardra and Deepak on their first GoodGym task and congratulations to Danni for reaching their 10th task!

Today was a great task, we visited Mr. M. Who we have visited before to continue working on clearing their garden, it had been a long break and Mr. M. had procured a ball of energy (Dog) since our last visit.
Missy was lot of fun and a wizard at standing on two legs.
Anyway... we also cleared a lot of brambles and moved a lot of applicances into a pile for collection in an an accessible point in the garden, when we started they were buried under the brambles.

Tonight 10 GoodGymer's ran or cycled 6km to Pilling Park Community Centre.
It was our first visit to this venue, and we were there to support Lionwood Cycle Project - of which Jonathan is a member - who provide regular drop in bike servicing sessions.
The task was to clear a storage container of large unwanted items including 3 fridge / freezers, an ice cream box and hostess trolley! Using a sack barrow they were all moved to the front entrance, ready to be collected by the council for recycling.
Other items such as chairs and shelving will be reused or re-homed. So the task was over in a flash.
We will hopefully be back at this venue in the future to support the community cafe and other local groups.

It will allow Mr M to enjoy his garden more and give him a good starting point to get a garden service in.

This was a very fulfilling mission to take part in. Mrs G wanted some help using her phone and had some accidents recently, so wanted to make sure she could get help if she needed it.
We helped Mrs G make emergency calls to her friends from her phone and gave her some tips on other ways to navigate if she was confused at any point. She was very grateful and requested we return in the future to help with her laptop.
