Not all heroes wear race bibs, some wear volunteer hi-vis!

Leicester Report written by Sarah

A huge weldone to Nick volunteering at Melton, and to Dan, Stu and Lorna at Watermead Junior parkrun for giving your time and energy to volunteer.

Events like these couldn’t happen without people stepping forward to support the community and create such a positive, welcoming environment for everyone, parents and running juniors.

Weldone everyone!

GG gardening on Platform 2 - its now well trimmed & ready for boarding

Leicester Report written by Jeanette Douglas

A successful first colab with the GCR volunteer team completed. Nick, Jimmy and Jen were set to cutting back the overgrown vegetation along the grass verge used as a parking area. Of course it wouldn't be a GG task without litter picking being involved - 3 buckets full and a bag of drinks cans for Nick to donate to Air Ambulance. The GG team made good work of the overgrown vegetation and cleared the lot quite swiftly, after a spot of grass trimming by a GCR volunteer the area looked fabulous. Hopefully this is the start of a great partnership with GCR. The next session will be scheduled for June with the intention of a monthly visit. Please check out the future sessions for the next GCR/GG task.
