Five of the best GGers +1 soon to be member came to Frenford Foodbank today.
A massive welcome to Kelly making her GG debut today, James suggested she shadow Linda to learn the ropes but Kelly didn't need much instruction and she must have made a huge difference as we were finished packing over 40 packages in record time today. My sincere apologies for not taking Kelly's photo before she left today...I really must get better at taking photos early on.
Delighted to see Pauline and her (yet to sign up to GG) friend again always good to have last minute additions, there can never be too many volunteers on this task.
The session started with Linda being accused of not being vigilant enough about sell by dates, this was clearly a wind up as Irfan (task owner) had definitely been informed about the meatballs, the out of date fish had clearly been donated since the last stock take. Irfan thinks he is soooo funny ๐๐
Despite our super quick finish there is always room for improvement and while checking out a numbering issue Sharon came across one set of bags from a package in 3 different spots, that and an issue with having to move the bags out of the gym early led to some constructive conversations between Irfan and rest of the volunteers on how the numbering and trolley loading can be improved.
Below quote from Irfan after todays mission.
"Really appreciate what you and the guys do, amazing to think we are going from strength to strength even though we started at the start of Covid. God bless ๐ซก"

Not a lot of pictures were taken this session, as there seemed to be a lot going on. We did manage to capture Pauline and take a hasty selfie, sorry we missed photographing you Jenny and AJ - it doesn't make you any less amazing ๐คฉ. Over 70 client packages were made. We ended up having little people helping us as well, aiding us in our tasks, with some guidance from Linda and AJ. We got everything done, and organised the scouts deliveries, only a few out of date items were present.

Pauline Joan done a 6 month mission streak.
Pauline just completed a six month streak of doing missions. Thatโs so many bags of garden rubbish cleared and jobs done to help someone out and put a smile on their face. Give Pauline a cheer to encourage them to keep up the good work.

Pauline Joan cheered by other people 25 times.
Pauline is part of a crowd that's making a huge noise. Pauline has been cheered by 25 people - that's a round of applause just on their own. We hope they keep it up.

Wow! What an amazing turn out of GG members we had at Frenford Foodbank today. We had 9 signed up initially, some late sign ups and some too late to sign ups (who turned up anyway ๐) and a couple who also brought friends along. I did my best to ensure everyone was included in the photos, sincere apologies if anyone still got lost in the crowd.
A big welcome to newcomer Jay who not only turned up for his first Good Gym session and got stuck straight in he brought a friend who also got stuck in and is now planning to join GG. Talking of which Pauline also brought a very helpful friend who is now thinking of joining up.
Its always a little busy at these sessions but with a additional massive donation arriving this week and so many people me "organised chaos" is the expression that comes to mind. As usual everyone got on with the job of preparing food packages, dealing with the lack of space with grace, courtesy and agility.
Between helping the drivers out with deliveries, we set about organising the huge delivery and pretty soon there were big spaces and empty crates where walls of goods had been, and a full storage shed and replenished shelves appeared ready for the next one.
It has been suggested that if they get another big donation of goods like that again that it would be a good idea for an additional session before we prepare the orders.
Good Job Good Gym and Friends ๐
