We’re a group of friendly local residents who are keen to help our community by running, walking or cycling to projects in the area to provide enthusiastic assistance in digging up gardens, moving planters, painting walls, sorting donated clothes, litter picking on residential streets, planting bulbs, building and dismantling sheds and a whole lot more. Each session will usually involve a short run from a central meeting point to the task location, and all abilities are welcome, but you’re also always able to meet us at the task location if you prefer.
Most of our group activities take place on a Tuesday evening between 7 and 8.15pm.
Over the past 6 months we’ve helped out at Hackney Marshes Adventure playground, tidying up streets around Maryland, Plaistow Primary School, Cody Dock, Care4Calais, the Emmanuel Church, and a range of allotments/community gardens in Newham.
Every GoodGym session is different and we’re always pleased to welcome new volunteers to our community as well as connect with task owners who are looking for assistance to get a particular mission started or completed. Please see all of our upcoming sessions here.
These brilliant GoodGymers make up the Newham TaskForce.
The TaskForce supports the operation of GoodGym in Newham. They manage social media accounts, support new GoodGymers and organise sessions.
GoodGym Newham group runs are led by these fantastic volunteer run leaders.
GoodGym run leaders have completed the England Athletics Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) training.
