Lambeth Report written by Yianny (he / him)
The evening's planned collab with Friday Night Lights didn't come to pass but that doesn't mean that Lambeth GoodGym wasn't ready to party.....
The team met as usual at Papa's and 6 trusty GGers including a new face were ready to crank up the tunes and head out to the task. The group offered a warm welcome to Manos for his first ever GG session - great to have you with us Mano!
We set off with AA's rather clunky speaker blaring out Motown hits through Brixton during rush hour and of course nobody batted an eyelid as many a stranger thing has been seen than a group of red clad runners partying to Ben E King and Bill Withers!!
On arrival at the Tulse Hill estate we were greeted by: - A very enthusiastic resident who danced with us in the car park despite being on CRUTCHES! - Alfred the very protective and excited dog - And our host Vinnie who had arranged the task for the evening
The task was a classic lift 'n' shift, grab all the timber and relocate it from the playground to the polytunnelas well as a massive roll of underlay and some pin boards, then dispose of the pallets by the recycling bins. We had serious muscle with us so while Alfred serenaded us with barking Ben, Manos, Scott, Tilly and Fi grabbed as much as they could and we were done in no time.
Task completed and Vinnie was delighted (Alfred maybe less so?) and so we loaded up Spotify to disco classics and were able to boogie our way all the way home.
Big thanks to all and see you next time (oh and Scott I'm expecting you to follow through on that 80s fancy dress in the coming weeks!)

Lambeth Report written by Yianny (he / him)
Lambeth crew were back at it yesterday evening, making their way out in the lightening evenings to help out in the local community while having fun and getting fit.
First up we welcomed Scott to his first Group Run with GG - great to have you with us Scott! Scott was joined by GG regulars Tilly and Fi ready for a nice steady 3km run round Brixton and Clapham and back towards base.
Our regular Litter Pick Bingo session allows for some 'competitive' action by splitting up into teams and seeing who can complete the bingo card of litter items. The session not only allows us to tidy litter and dispose of recycling on the way but also have fun seeing who can find the most bizarre item which normally decides the winning team.
The call was made to go Tilly/Fi vs Scott/Yianny (Scott full of non stop energy even running between pieces of litter!) and so the two groups set off in search of treasure (waste). The competitiveness was such that both teams considered buying a chocolate bar or take-away in order to get the packaging but thankfully no such action was required.
By ten to eight we were back to share and dispose of our haul with all items barring PPE interestingly, collected by both teams. For the weird and wonderful we found a mohair coat, dog toy, pregnant cat (don't worry we didn't dispose of it!) and a single mattress.
Big thanks to all for a fun session and we move on to next week's session - see you then :0)

Apparently one of the least popular GoodGym missions, but I love it and think it makes a tangible difference to the local community. Great idea on bingo and splitting into teams- I will suggest this for Woking.

Thanks Rebecca, the group here like the session and it can be super fun if made mildly competitive! Let me know how you guys get on - good luck!

Scott Riley earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Scott completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Scott was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.
