Thomas Archer cheered by other people 25 times.
Thomas is part of a crowd that's making a huge noise. Thomas has been cheered by 25 people - that's a round of applause just on their own. We hope they keep it up.

6 Goodgymmers worked really hard turning over all the woodchip over. Hard work but enjoyable in the sunshine for a change. We completed all 4 areas of the playground. parky Rob was well impressed by our team effort. After the tasks we end up eating chips off London Road at Shawarma. Then I found a lovely Wooden Giraffe in a skip and adopted it willingly.

Back to a classic GG task helping out Sustrans litterpicking and cutting back vegetation on our nation cycle routes!
It was grand to welcome a new runner - Mark! As our task wasn't too far from our starting point, we chose to take a little detour to add some extra kilometers on to the run. Obviously, because this is Sheffield, we hit a mega hill along the way but this small but perfectly formed team handled it like the bosses they are.
Whenever we litter pick, we like to start a competition for the best find; one shoe and a toy diver who watch over us whilst we worked. 5 bags of rubbish and 45 minutes later we had a clear and tidy cycle route!
We ran a more direct route back to base and had a good stretch out. Job well done!

8 Goodgymmers helped re fresh woodchip paths at a community garden/allotment. Learned a lot about names of flowers, when to sow seeds, plant and water them periodically. Great physical work shifting woodchips onto paths and making them more accessible

Many of our attendees struggle with very physical tasks such as this one and you will be ensuring that our community garden is safe, tidy and looking fresh for the new season ahead.

It was an enthusiastic crew of GoodGymers who braved the Sheffield drizzle to join new task leaders Dave and Chris from Sunnybank community centre to kickstart the community garden. the garden had been unkept for a good few years and the community is keen to develop it into a beautiful resource.
Local residents also joined us and within no time Dave and Chris had us getting into the wilderness with spades, forks, loppers, shears and...spoons. * we cleared the border of one of the plant beds * we dug out pesky sycamore seedlings * we cleaned the paved area of its moss and weeds * we cut back the big bush by the gate to its border * we cut back what used to be a lawn and had long overgrown.
After 45 minutes, the paved area looked good enough to sit on and picnic, the gate had been freed up of its invasive bush and the plant bed had been edged around.
There is still plenty to sink our teeth into before this jungle turns into an oasis and we're keen to come back!
