Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Tim Dickson
With the first football match for England in the Word Cup i wasn't sure what to expect number wise at Goodgym last night. I needn't have worried because we have an awesome team here in Bexley. We had two tasks to get sorted tonight. One, to finish delivering the Community Hospice colour run leaflets, and our main task to help out at the Danson Water Sports Centre. I have to give a big shout out to Susan this evening for helping with the warm up and leading the run. I'm not going to lie, i was a little broken having completed the London to Brighton bike ride the previous day. On finishing our warm up we headed out onto Danson Road delivering the leaflets. I don't like to brag but we've got this leaflet dropping off to a T. Its great fun to watch as we weave in and out of the drive ways...........With the last leaflet posted, it was off to the Water Sports centre.
WITH THE LAST LEAFLET POSTED, IT WAS OFF TO THE WATER SPORTS CENTRE...........
On arrival we were greeted by Charlie who gave us a brief on what goes on within the centre and the daily activities they do. After finding out that England were a goal up on Tunisia it was time to get to work. We had a few tasks to get through, and as this was our first visit to the centre we didn't want to let them down. Task one:- Sweep and tidy up changing rooms and stack up the chairs Task two:- We headed down to the lake side to litter pick, sweep the mooring, and tidy up the store rooms. Task three:- Sweep and clear up all the old leaves and tidy up around the bin area. Bosh!!! Job done!! Its so rewarding to stand back and have a look at your completed tasks. It gives you a real sense of satisfaction.
IT'S SO REWARDING TO STAND BACK AND HAVE A LOOK AT YOUR COMPLETED TASKS. IT GIVES YOU A REAL SENSE OF SATISFACTION
Just as it was time to go we were informed the England game score line was now one, one. With our spirits just damped a little we started running back to Base Camp Crooklog. Being the back marker for the evening i arrived a little after everyone else but was greeted with an amazing chorus of Happy Birthday and some amazing cupcakes made by Sarah. mmmmmmm, they were divine :-) Thank you so much everyone. You have made turning 50 a lot easier for me. Well thats it for this weeks run report. I hope you enjoyed reading it along with the photos. See ya next week
