Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
21 outstanding people ran from Vivo Health Club to the BBC last Tuesday. The showers that had threatened to drench us all throughout the day held off, repelled by the sheer goodness of our purpose (at least that's what I tell myself!) - so if you didn't come because you thought it was going to rain, you really should know better by now!
At this point I have to remind myself that it will, one day, absolutely tip it down whilst we're out running. But I digress...
A very warm welcome was given to Steph who will shortly be setting up a branch of GoodGym in Bath - watch this space for more information about how we can help our Bathonian brothers and sisters. Steph led most of the warm up then handed the reins over to Pru who led the run. Also welcome to Tom and Sophie, both brand new to Good Gym too!
We made it up the massive hill of Jacobs Wells Road still in one group, and pausing only for traffic lights, we made it to the BBC in good time, meeting up with Emily who went to try and find our contact, Jules.
In the meantime, Steph was kind enough to lead the group in a series of press ups, tag teamed to Pru for lunges, who tagged back to Steph who then got the group to do squats. Two trainers for one - double the fun!
Jules was not to be found so we headed off to Brandon Hill instead and split up in to several teams. Equipped with bin bags and gloves, we went litter picking, the goal being to try and get the heaviest bag of litter possible.
The teams dived in to hedges, under trees, up hills and down steps, and Pru and Steph were getting a bit worried about how best to judge who would have the heaviest bag; this worry was kindly assuaged by Kim and her team when they found a tent that had been unceremoniously dumped in to a pond! This firmly won title of heaviest item, and although there was no prize, there really should have been one as the experience was described as 'disturbing'. Everyone did really well, tent or no tent, and it's safe to say that Brandon Hill is a lot tidier now.
We scooted down back to Vivo for a well deserved stretch, nicely led by Steph; if you headed home before the end of the run, then you missed out on the reminder about getting signed up to run to visit a lonely older person - there are 6 people waiting to be paired up in Bristol at the moment, so why not speak to Kim about how you can get a new running coach!
Thanks everyone for another fantastic run!

Another great, if impromptu, run out with Good Gym! Sorry I missed the chat at the end, I'll make sure I get my references sorted asap.
