I visited Ms R again this weekend to trim and clear another part of the garden, after starting the job a week ago. Due to poor health and limited mobility, Ms R is not able to do any garden work herself anymore, but used to be a keen gardener and really appreciates a well-maintained and tastefully arranged garden. Following her request, I mostly helped with trimming overgrown shrubs covering surrounding rose bushes and braided willow trees. There were also some sebum plants to be planted in the centre of the garden and general weeding and pruning. Given the dry spell we've been having, I also watered all the plants as some were definitely fading from the relentless heat and drought of this summer. The final peace (yes!) of the puzzle was finding a new appropriate place for the Buddha statue to overlook the garden. Ms R can now enjoy a tidy, refreshed garden and see all the rose bushes from the safety of the patio. It was really rewarding to see how important it was to her - and we both found a little zen in the garden.
